There is a finite amount of money in circulation, the more that goes to the rich (who patently don't "need" it), means less goes to the poor (who absolutely do "need" it). There are 177 billionaires in the UK and 2.5 million millionaires, and Liz Truss wants to cut taxes to "help" the poor with rampant inflation and fuel costs which are quite simply unaffordable. Yeah right.

Like Clough said. No problem people being wealthy as long as everyone’s wealthy.

It’s their shareholders and shareholders in their supply chains we’re talking about.

To improve the community. I’d say true patriots pay tax and make their neighbours and community stronger. It’s nowt to do with flag shagging and immigrants. If you make yourself better and your nation worse you aren’t very patriotic.

So would it not make sense to spend a bit of cash to build a proper centre in France where all cases are processed then anyone qualifying would be given a safe passage, anyone arriving by other means will be refused entry, that way it would stop anyone that doesn't qualify and a safe passage for those that do just an idea

Over the last 5 years we have handed the French approx 100 million to beef up security over there. Clearly they're sticking it in their back pocket and pissing it up the wall.

    I agree with that.

I'm not sure they're responsible for making sure every single person in their community has a few quid, though.

We need to make sure these major companies are paying every penny they're supposed to in tax. No issues with that.

There is a difference between gross profit and net profit, I am talking net profit, my net profit was what was left after I’d taken the money out that was reinvested.

    Yeah, I know all that.

Do you know how much money these people spend every month of their own money? The size of their houses means they pay a couple grand just on their energy. Then they've got their maids, gardeners, chefs. I'd be spending hundreds of pounds on every meal, tbh. I'd want the best of everything. After spending half my life breaking my back to get there, I'd lap it up and live the life of luxury. It's well deserved. Whatever left is there's to put away.

Companies that are decent, pay millions in tax every year. They do their part and put far more into the economy and create far more jobs than anybody on here ever will do. Yet, we are the loud ones telling them what to do with their money? It's embarrassing.

From 2003, the UK and France had Le Touquet Accord which was then replaced by the Sandhurst Agreement in 2018 when we left the EU. Basically we paid France a sum of money to allow our Border Force staff to set up strategic points in France to process Migrants/Asylum Seekers. Unfortunately that agreement broke down a couple of years ago leaving migrants no official route into the UK.

I don't disagree with most of your point, and I don't think communism or some radical redistribution of wealth is the answer.

It has gone too far the other way though with people at the top being greedy on the belief that they "earned it".

The argument that people "build themselves up from nothing" is largely flawed. They were probably born in a hospital that we built and pay taxes for. They learned to read write and a lot more through an education system that we all provided (and the workers they rely on did the same). Their business rely on transport systems that we've built and keep paying to improve. They're thriving in our economy and on the back of technology that exists because of the work others have put in.

I've no objection to some people working hard and being more successful than others, what I object to is them wanting to pull the ladder up behind them with a false justification that they're "self made". No-one on this planet is self made, we all got help along the way along with a huge slice of luck.

What so say Shell who are making record profits and causing environmental harm while people with respiratory illnesses have to keep heating off because it’s so costly shouldn’t have us put restrictions on them ? It’d be a ****ish free for all with no protection for the vulnerable. Some people love money above humanity. It’s an obsession that needs strong regulation.

And anyone successful has people working for them who haven’t clearly earned enough on their journey.
We have to change the narrative of money being ‘taken away from them’. It should be celebrated that a persons entrepreneurialism has contributed to reducing poverty, improving education, housing, the environment. People should take pride that their business acumen has made a stronger community. What is the benefit in having cash in the bank and a huge property when your neighbour has no food and nowhere to live. People who have that mindset have lost their way and need regulation.

I believe if the railway workers went on strike for a month no one would be travelling anywhere, if the fat cats at the top went on strike for a month travel wouldn’t be affected, That tells you who should have a pay increase when they’ve made 1.6 billion profit.

It’s madness when you think about it. This is the case in so many industries. Ironically a reduction in unemployment gives workers more power to demand better wages. It impacts on the Conservative philosophy and the power of the executives. They need workers and workers are no longer replaceable.
