Reggie is a strange one, he's a decent left back, young and with plenty of scope to improve. I wouldn't of thought we want huge money for him and he's not going to demand a huge salary. I think at this stage the best we can hope for is a loan with a buy option.
The obvious point with Reggie this summer is Los Ladrones' buyback is still in effect, so there's no reason for us to accept less than £25m for him
Why? If he's only worth £15m then they won't exercise the buy back option so it would be a great deal to sell him for £20m. The buyback effectively caps his value at £25m, it isn't a floor.
Then a club has to accept the financial hit on clearing out such players (lowering the transfer fee to allow the buying club to reasonably match the player current wages etc) .
Telegraph are saying Madrid may make a move for Hojbjerg as a possible Casemiro replacement. Can’t personally see it happening though. They just signed Tchouameni (which is presumably why they’re letting Casemiro go) and have Modric, Kroos, Camavinga, Ceballos plus Valverde who all play CM roles.
If it’s £50million plus then I’d snap their hand off. Plus I get the feeling Hojbjerg would push for a move.
Few months back I’d have taken it. Not now. Massively need him, solid player but an excellent leader and character. He’s seemingly a favourite of Conte’s and was of Jose too, think that speaks a lot.
We need a squad if we are to take the league and the 3 Cups seriously...selling him would weaken us...so it's a no from me. Also, as a point of principle I'd tell Real Madrid to **** off...scummy club with dodgy finances protected by UEFA ... same as Barcelona.
Definitely would need to replace him and a decent replacement wouldn’t be cheap but imo Skipp and Bissouma will be ahead of him eventually anyway. If he doesn’t push for the move then fine keep him, but players usually don’t turn down if they come knocking. Guessing he would earn big money there too.
