According to our diligent jouno's at the EADT the former Kesgrave High School pupil would love to come back and play for Ipswich if he was given the opportunity. He was quite rightly upset about having to leave us in the first place. Personally I would love him to come back and prove just how good a player he has become but I fear a price tag of £3Million may be the asking price. What do you guys think about Rhodes? Do you think he would come back after the way he was treated and more importantly would he score the goals to fire us into the premiership?

Would i take him back? Definitely. I think he has a lot to prove at this level, and i think he has the capability of doing a good job for us. He's young, good feet, and scores a combination of different goals. He could be the goal poacher we need (thought Chops would be, but is not that type). It's a shame we never gave him a chance, or even put a sell on clause (meaning we could get him back cheaper)

Stretchy welcome back mate haven't seen you on here for ages!

We do have a sell on clause for Rhodes at a pretty decent level as well. Wouldn't it be a tad ironic if we bought him back!

JWM, If the price tag is 3 million and we have a sell-on clause of for example of 33% doesn't that mean we would only pay 2 million? that would be to bad of a deal in my eyes.

I would assume that would be the case Guru. <ok>

Jewell has said that he has no interest in going for Rhodes but seems to be obsessed with Billy Sharp! I can see that one ending in tears before bed time.

Someone said it was 50% sell on clause. TBH I cant see him telling a Journo that. He may think it but when your in the form and position he is in currently and add the fact we havent publicly stated we want him why would he potentially rock the boat?

Apparantly "a source close to the player....!" I think he genuinely would like to come back because he didn't want to leave in the first place.

The story can't be right. Didn't Superman say that he heard on Twitter that Jordan Rhodes left us under a cloud and wouldn't return under any circumstances!

There are "rumours" of the sell on clause being up to 50%.

I think his dad didn't get on with Keane (for not giving Jordan enough opportunities) not Jordan himself, and it wasn't 'Ipswich' it was only Keane they fell out over, so with Jewel in charge I could see him coming to us.

I think at the moment Jewel is definitely going after Sharp but judging by his time so far with us he won't get dragged into a price war, so if Southampton and the like are still interested he might just go for Rhodes.

We might be able to fill the entire squad with strikers at this rate!!

Andy Rhodes had a huge bust-up with Magilton, this all happened before the Dark Lords days. Keane sold Jordan within a couple of months of becoming manager.

With Diouf now signing for Donny the possibility of Sharp being sold has just risen I feel. Would like to see Rhodes back, I know we have a lot of strikers at the moment but there are only two I would really want to keep and think we could still improve in this area (as well as other areas obviously)

I dont see that Diouf coming in is anything to do with Sharp going out. Donny had Parkin on loan from Cardiff until the weekend and has now gone back. Also Donny only had 1 fit striker on Saturday after Sharp was left out of the squad.

    There's no smoke without fire!

As I understand it Sharp was left out on Saturday due to "family reasons" and nothing to do with fitness. I bet Diouf will be on a fair old wack as well so I think Sharp's days at Donny are definately numbered. Mind you I can see him going to Portsmouth to link up with O'Driscoll but hey ho!

certainly wasn't on twitter, someone from your club told me <ok>

all i was told is that he couldn't wait to get out of the club so unfortunately for you, i would have to say there appears to be a 0% chance of him re-joining ipswich. i don't see why he would lie about it to be fair.

you might get sharp though - i here saints might be in for him amongst others but if i remember correctly he turned them down in the summer so maybe you have a shout with him, assuming he gets fit again

JWM as much as I agree with you on the this post, this is what I mean by the fact that you contradict yourself so much on these boards. You commented on my post about Jordon Rhodes, that it was "Water under the Bridge!!...Next!!", and then a few days later you create a thread about Jordon Rhodes, I hope you see what I'm trying to get at, that you are a little inconsistent with your views.

Back to the issue, I've read the article and as per usual it just seems to be a non-story really. The evidence comes from an apparent source closer to Rhodes, saying he would "walk back" to ITFC but only those 2 words are said, perhaps it is true but had to justify from this small statement. Also regarding the interview with Jewell at no point does he say that he's not interested in Rhodes, he's just his normal illusive self when it comes to watching players, he's not going to say yes I was looking at him!! I'm not sure how they can really get a story out of this but there we go.

I would like to see him back at the club tbh, if he is capable of making the step up as he epitomizes the type of player clubs everywhere are looking for a "natural goalscorer", who is young, british and from the lower leagues. In a way I would still be angry if we got him back though because I just think what an idiotic thing it was to sell him in the first place without giving him a proper run out, it was just crazy!!!!

<laugh> Perhaps I should become a politician! or am I already!

Anyhow sorry for creating this thread even after I dismissed one about the same subject the other day. You must be keeping some sort of database containing all my utterances on these boards! <yikes> Your not my ex wife by any chance? In the absence of anything else I read this article in the EADT and thought **** it I know lets create a post on the subject!
