Guy who did them has left .

Been replaced by a guy who used to work at the club hence all the Pre season interviews .

The ratings were interesting and provoked debate.

Unfortunately usually had to be quite low last season !

    I knew it!!

Have we found the Jimmy Greaves type of player we have been lacking for quite some time?

Poachers goal that. Long time since we had a proper poacher.

Will Hoskins could poach a bit, but this lad is more solid, I think.

His eggs were amazing but he was paid to score goals and did not do that well as far as I can remember

Maybe Manaj and Davis can be the Deeney and Igahlo/Vydra of the good old days

With a midfield of Chowdry, Louza and Asprilla

My memory of that time is that Hoskins and the other forwards were never fed how they wanted to be fed. They had to fit Boothroyd’s system and he was pretty inflexible in that, I thought. He had Priskin playing back to goal, which everyone will remember was a piss poor idea, because Priskin couldn’t turn and retain possession. He was a one-trick pony, which was running towards goal with the ball and as few defenders to beat as possible - preferably none! With a good through ball he could beat a keeper, but Boothroyd and his rolled up piece of paper, refused to play to any of the forward’s strengths. Hence the brick wall we hit with AB. IMHO.

I know Jon Marks said that goal line technology was used, and this isn't the best angle - but it does look suspiciously over the line.

I did see a picture today that was taken along the goal line. It did show that the ball had almost but not quite crossed the line.

The radio commentators said what OFH said. They said it was the width of a cigarette paper from being a goal.

There is no VAR, but there is goal line tech someone wiser than me mentioned in the match thread.

More to the point if Bayo had slid in he'd have knocked it over the line. He was just jogging in waving his arm for the goal.
I'd have had a word if I were mananger. He should be steamrollering that down.

With the benefit of hindsight, I suspect that, had that been Manaj, the ball would have been in the back of the net.

<laugh> So true. I remember that and my Dad’s frustration manifesting itself in precise expletives, much to the very great annoyance of the bloke behind us. Thou shalt not criticise thine own players.<doh> I was constantly having to keep an eye on this bloke that he wasn’t going to get physical with my Dad. Didn’t slow Dad down at all, mind. He had a few words for AB too. ;)
