Wonder if that’s what the Arsenal fans thought when they signed Pepe. Or when Manu signed Shrek for 85m.
He's really good, central midfielder that for that price we should have looked at. Granted no idea what his personality so possibly thats why we haven't made a move.
It feels like we are trying our hardest to have reasons not to sign players. Are we sure Charnley isn’t still involved in some capacity.?
Correct. He's an absolute steal at that price. Plus he plays midfield for Lyon so I can't see them selling Paqueta too!
I think he went to Forest as they have more ambition in the transfer market. That was mostly a joke by the way.
Despite than fan snoobbery I think this is a very skillful and tidy player... Another with no end product though
Could be. Maybe was also what Liverpool fans thought on Torres or Man city on De Bruyne? Point is there seems to be a lot of risk avoidance going on. Maybe it's time to accept a little risk to try to move forward
Your right there is always risk. We appear to be messing about with a couple of million. They (the club) knows that there is a premium to pay atm. It happened to Man City. There first signing was Robinho for 35m and that was in 2008.
Newcastle United have expressed an interest in signing three players from Chelsea - England's Callum Hudson-Odoi, 21, and Connor Gallagher, 22, and United States' Christian Pulisic, 23 - and are also keen on Blues striker Armando Broja, 20, of Albania, but can only take one player on loan from the club and have financial restrictions on the number of permanent signings they can make. (Telegraph - subscription required) What's this about? Financial restrictions on number of perm signings? Is this an internal thing of FFP?
Can’t be FFP we are still well under the ceiling of the max we can spend for FFP. I don’t think the PL can stop any transfers. So all I can think of is actual cash restrictions.
I wonder if it's, in reality, personalities of players that Howe isn't keen on or wage demands that would upset the group. Papers and itk's would probably put that down as lack of funds. I can't believe that the new owners would stop investment short of FFP if the manager wanted it...
Despite any restrictions, I think they still have at least a few more perm signings planned. Would Chelsea give us all those players though? Unlikely. I'd take Pulisic and Gallagher in a flash, C H-O and Broja are meh though.
The fact they dropped Jack Colback in their last game means Forest are no longer relegation certainties and are suddenly more attractive to players.
If it's resteictions on the number of signings uou van make then Forest are in deep ****. So it must just be restrictions in terms of our own wage bill / number of overall players. But we could always ship some out too. I do get that ww.might not want to break yhe wage structure at this for a few individuals, as that could be disruptive ro rest of squad. So maybe it's also the personal demands that are holding us back from some signings, where the transfer fee might appear affordable but the player's own expectations are too high.
It’s been such a disappointing summer. And you can’t tell me Bruno, ASM, etc aren’t going to be thinking the same. Reckon we might get this useless kid Pedro and borrow someone from Chelsea then wonder why we still can’t create/score enough.
