We got away with it against Preston and Norwich, but we made it difficult for Burnley tonight and actually a bit more composure from our forward players and I reckon we’d have won. 3 times we caught and outnumbered them on the break with someone making a run clean through on goal but chose the wrong option and the attack broke down.
Burnley manager Vincent Kompany told BBC Radio Lancashire: "Eh up duck, we've been here before. We're dominant and as the game progresses we get more threatening and we create chances. "In the end there were a lot of ingredients there for us to win the game and that's disappointing. "One of the biggest things we have to do now is keep earning the right to play - when we stay patient, that's when gaps will open." Hull City manager Shota Arveladze told BBC Radio Humberside: "I would accept a point here, it's not an easy place to play but we got our goal and made it difficult for them. "We knew what they do so we kept our wingers tight to stop them playing too much to the pockets in the corner. " it was a great touch for the goal from Ozan and he tries a lot and he is getting up to full speed."
Just got back. Well worth the drive over to see us gain another point. What a fantastic start to the season. Great atmosphere again. It’s so good to watch City play and not hear a single negative comment from the fans. Everyone just seems so positive and united in their support for the team and club as a whole. I know it’s been said already many times but Tufan what a player! You just knew he was going to score when he was put through. Slater was outstanding. He put some excellent balls through to the forward players tonight on the break; he is growing in confidence and stature with every game. What an absolute bargain! I bet he can’t wait for the 4th Sep! Despite them dominating possession, you had a feeling that we would hang on as it felt quite comfortable near the end. UTT!
Great performance tonight, especially the last 15 when we shut up shop and Burnley were bereft of ideas of how to break us down - Tufan and Slater were excellent - well taken goal by Tufan which highlighted his composure and confidence - some players would have messed that up - only area to work on is Coyle and Allahyar giving their winger way too much space which also led to the goal - you'd think they'd get the message but they didn't - however very entertaining match which could have gone either way
Tufan took his goal very well. He did not charge forward with his head down he waa looking at where to place it way in advance of shooting. Lesser players would have messed it up.
He called him **** and unfit in an interview. It seems like Watford didn't have the patience to let him get fit because even at £9m for them from what I've seen so far, that looks a pretty good deal
What a thing of beauty Tufan’s goal is, totally in control, ala Salah if I may be so bold. The goal keeper was literally welded to the ground and for a fat boy by can he move over 30/40 yards. Most championship strikers in a similar position as they ran towards goal their hearts would be going ten to the dozen, my money’s on tufan’s at 40 beats. They would of just kicked the **** out of it, he actually bends it just enough passed the inside of the post, quality pure and simple… and yes I am a little bit in love with Tufan !!!! By the end of this season I think everyone will… as has been said a few times before” a proper baller.”
A lot of people on here wouldn’t mind being described as fat and having a build like Tufan rather the one they have,
