I can't see Neil just taking in a random game to kill time, everything he says and does has a purpose. He will be there for a reason imo otherwise he would be back at the hotel prepping for the match. He will be looking at a potential signing imo.
Andersen would make so much sense as not only could he cover RCB with Ballard out, but once Ballard is back, either of them could move into the central role. Which might be necessary considering Batth and Wrights injury records.
Sir Bob. What a guy. But most clubs realise today's kids are tomorrow's supporters without doing anything about it. Before scoffing at Sunderland's enterprising initiative, ask yourself how many fans your club could attract to a reserve game just by throwing open the gates. 'Not many,' club chairman Bob Murray ventured. 'Sunderland are unique. We have some of the most traditional supporters in the world, people who have very little in their lives except football. At the same time, we pull from the region, we have always been the County Durham club, and our support base actually goes further afield, right across the country. That's our heritage, but we don't just sit back and wait for fans to turn up. We do a massive, child-based community programme, we have 27 full-time community workers and we visit 55 schools a week. Not just in the North-East either. We are presently attacking areas like the south of Scotland and the Borders. No one else in the country can touch us. We are trying to broaden our support base all the time. We want to be a national club, a household name, perhaps everyone's second favourite team.' https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/football/1999/jan/30/newsstory.sport5
I struggle with where Diallo fits in our current system. much like Roberts I can’t see him starting centrally, and I can’t see him as a wing back. So he’s kind of an impact sub only option. Unless we change shape of course
To be fair, I remember coventry brining on impact subs that altered the game. We do lack that at the minute. The lad clearly has quality. Would be an interesting one for sure.
we definitely will aye. Especially seeing it’s unrealistic to assume simms and Stewart both go all season without needing a break / injury
We won’t be sticking with the same formation all season I don’t think mate, likes of Roberts and that will get their chance if we need rotate, I think if Diallo did come it’d be a good opportunity for us and him, only IF though
Is it too soon to say if he cant get into that man u team he cant be any use? Bit of sarcasm I know...
Been fun on here tonight. We are signing the second Milton Nunez, half of the Barnsley first team, a Man Utd lad who probably cost billions and Danny Drinkwater because he was in safc players favourites garage The odd thing is, if I had my way it would be the next Nunez and one of the younguns from Barnsley (and not the ex england player or the man utd youth prospect)...
Give ower, the Man Utd youth prospect was signed for more than our club was worth last year, I think he might be worth giving a chance
Know some Barnsley fans and they reckon it would be Styles we were watching. Said if it was that centre half he was dodgey but has came on Leaps and bounds. I just presumed it was Neil just going to watch some footy cos he was in the area as a opposed to a scouting mission. He’s mentioned before how much he likes to go and watch football.
No way. You missed the Kevin Phillips and Quinny days? I thought supporting Sunderland was proper ****e until that point. We had a great few years and now I feel that I've gone full circle
Does it really matter if he’s just taking a match in, plenty of managers have taking matches in and signed someone that have caught their eye, Barnsley has 3/4 good players and are in financial troubles
