Yes, ironically we finally have a midfield that might play to Pukki's strengths, but no Pukki. I just hope this doesn't mean he has gone. I know the club seems to hate the fans at the moment and would replace us with cardboard cut-outs if they could, but surely they wouldn't get rid of our talisman when half the fanbase are on the edge of revolt, would they? Would they?
That’s it isn’t it - Farke built his team round specific players and got the best out of those players. First it was Maddison, then it was Buendia, in the PL I think he had hoped it would be Normann though he got fired before it really clicked. That’s Farke’s style - and while both Maddison and Buendia are clearly excellent players and capable of a higher level, neither of them is world class, at least not yet. So I think that shows that while Farke might have relied upon them, it was a symbiotic thing, so their profile in our team was down to Farke’s choices.
