Masina scored for Udinese in their 4-2 defeat to Milan. Deulofeu and Success were up top for Udinese.

Cucho Hernandez scored his sixth goal in seven games for Columbus Crew earlier this morning. I have not participated in any criticism of the club hierarchy, but I expressed my disappointment when he was sold and I am not entirely convinced by the reasons which were given.

MLS is top end of L1/btm Championship at best. That said I concur with your sentiment.

Yes I cannot believe Edwards didn’t fancy him without even really seeing him play .

Soundest like an excuse to sell him for good money .

    True.

BUT; the USA is closer to Colombia than the UK, which was my point. Still a journey mind.

Can't comment on that really, I only know him from a Watford perspective. I don't watch any MLS and have gone off the footy a bit here due to the wierd league set up and then knock out games to be champs.

I don't actually see that admitting an error makes everything hunky dory though - I know they are all only human, and humans make mistakes, but they are paid rather well to not make mistakes.

I'm sure the suits in the FL will still see this as a punishable slur and will take some action against both the ref and Pearson.

Aidy Boothroyd's managerial career in India got off to a bad start this morning - a 1-2 home defeat for his new club Jamshedpur.

Coincidentally, I posted at exactly the same time about AB’s limitations on a different thread.

I know that 'that ship has sailed', but it is so frustrating to discover that Cucho Hernandez scored two more goals against Atlanta United on Sunday and was included in the MLS team of the week. He has now scored 8 goals (including some very well-taken ones) in 8 games for Columbus Crew and he has scored with both feet and with his head. It is ironic that Watford FC needs a striker who can regularly score goals in the Championship.

Someone (who is employed by several professional football clubs) wrote on the WFC Forums that the majority of MLS clubs are comparable to Championship level and the rest are equivalent in standard to the top half of League One.

Andrew French mentioned on Sunday, when he chatted on 'Uncle Ron and Ed's Sunday Service', that Cucho Hernandez would have been happy to stay and would have been fully committed while he was here, but he was in the last two years of his contract and he had made it clear that he would be looking for a move in the future. His desire to be closer to closer to Colombia and 'the rule of 11' were not major factors. It was pointed out by others on the programme that Columbus does not even have an international airport and there is only a very small Hispanic community there. Cucho was offered a large increase in salary by Columbus Crew, but I wonder whether he might have changed his mind (about looking for a move elsewhere) if he had been given an opportunity to play regularly under Rob Edwards and had been offered a new, improved contract.

Andrew French suggested that the reason for Cucho's sale was because it was the beginning of the transfer window when the club received what they considered to be a good offer and they needed the money because they had no income at that time. However, then he implied that Watford may not have received quite as much money as has been reported for Cucho's transfer when he explained (without specifically referring to the details of this transfer) that a buying club often inflates the price to impress their supporters whereas the selling club often does not disclose the price.

I expressed my disappointment when Cucho was sold and subsequent events have confirmed in my mind that it was a poor decision by the club.
