I can see a bit of a late domino effect with some deals relying on others going through, or not. Especially with Barca, Chelsea & Man U and to an extent Leicester. So it might be that we are waiting to see on the likes of Gallagher, Broja, etc. depending on what Chelsea do.
Chelsea are within FFP... Long read, but as long as they keep performing broadly as well in Prem Europe, and keep recouping good sums for players - they're fine. Bit of a long read, but was pretty much in line with my thinking. INSANE overall debt level however.
Yeah I thought that about Chelsea, tbf. They had a Summer of buying nobody as well, right? They'll sell Ziyech, Pulisic and others for decent sums. All in all, we have no reason whatsoever to cast envious glances at anybody. In 2-3 years time we'll have fans crying into their cereal - mainly from the red side of Manchester - about our FFP '\abuse'. It's going to be hilarious seeing Man U referred to as a 'sleeping giant' in a few years.
I personally went and had a look at their transfer dealings over the past 4 years and yes they are well within the FFP mainly because they sold Hazard.
Did you consider the wage spend they have had and lack off income during covid and the last 6 months?
Yes I did. Their commercial income and spread of external loans (many of them at millions each and it’s wrong) meant they actually made a profit still. Chelsea have been manipulating the loans market for players they own for years. It earns then 100m plus a year.
So by the time we beat City next week, how long do we give it before the comparisons of Leicester's title win start?
