More importantly, how on earth did Wenger get on the list?!?! Maybe RVP should be on it, but he hasn't done enough for Arsenal to justify in my opinion. If he continues his form this season, then next years.

it is what the player has achieved in 2011 and to me RVP has been very good in 2011 a lot better than most on that list, reminds me of henry not winning it when he should of at least once

His 2011 goal scoring record is incredible. Both in the league and internationally. If that doesn't warrant being on the list then I've no idea what does. Wenger being on there is a joke.

I guess i was being strict with this but i guess if Rooney is on that list then RVP deserves to be. Wenger being on it is a joke.

This begs the question; what does a player have to do to get onto the list? The obvious discrepancy being that Rooney is on the list and RVP not. What has Rooney done, that RVP hasn't?????

Er, Manchester United won the league <doh>, Rooney had very little to do with it. In fact his overall form last season was shocking. But I forget, playing for Barca, Madrid or Man U automatically qualifies you for a spot on the list. I'm being silly <ok>

^^^ right you are. wasn't quite sure myself. but players like eto'o, who had decent starts to 2011 but then moved to some random russian team, shouldn't be there. also fabregas did not have the brightest half of 2011, he was injured most of it. nani, suarez, etc. should be FAR behind rvp

It's shocking that RVP isn't on that list - he has easily been amongst the top few players in the world in 2011.

How the **** did Fabregas get on that list? He was injured for most of 2011.

What's the point? It will be:

    Overall: Messi

    GK of the Year: Casillas
    DF of the Year: Pique
    MF of the year: Xavi/Iniesta
    FW of the year: Messi

Remember that year when Inter Milan won all of them?

Rooney couldn't buy a goal for large chunks of last season and he's hardly had an amazing season this year.

    Joke list.

  17. If Arsene should have been on the list it would have been a number of times in the first half of his tenure with the club. To have nominated him for achievements in the past calendar year is simply laughable unless of course it's for getting the team to four competitions up until near the close of February. Crazy list especially with the absence of RvP.

Suarez "should be FAR behind rvp"?,based on the last 12 months?

Surez won a Copa America winners medal and was voted player of the tournament.
