The open goal miss was an assist from the Norwich full back .

Missing sitters isn't a gift ,Hull players didn't have anything to do with the howler.

Booting a routine clearance off the back of your team mate straight into the path of the attacking player was a freak occurrence and I doubt Hull will be handed an easier chance all season.

It happens with Norwich a lot and the technical term is unforced error or clusterfuck.

I put it down to nerves or severe lack of concentration/confidence.

Eventually a game like yesterday attack v defence will be a routine 4 -0 but ir just isn't clicking .

    An easy chance? <laugh>

Our chairman's a breath of fresh air anyway, that's him the black tee-shirt. It's far from the first time he's popped for a pint or two with the fans. :afro:

I don't know what footballing universe you are posting from but I would be very surprised if Hull get many tap ins from 3 yards out by way of a ball smashed off a sloppy clearance.

I think Norwich had one similar 2 or 3 seasons ago .

The Colombian finished from close range late in the first half to put the Tigers ahead when a sloppy Max Aarons clearance fell kindly after hitting team-mate Andrew Omobamidele.

    From the BBC.

Key words sloppy clearance & fell kindly <laugh>

Many fans on our board (including myself) selected our keeper as man of the match. I thought you were very sharp in the first 10-15 minutes against our rather disorganised defence (first time with 4 at the back for ages) but rather tentative in your finishing and we started to grow into the game. Our forwards are fast and physical and press all the time. It generates mistakes and we took the chance when it came. You had loads of possession but didn't do a great deal with it until 2 down. We sat back and tried to soak up pressure and nearly came unstuck but saw it out, just. Your technically a great team but the occasional shot from outside the box wouldn't come amiss. At the moment you look rather predictable and I agree with RiverEndRick "the part that relies on effort, adrenalin and oomph has been forgotten ". I think we had effort, adrenaline and oomph to burn.
The ref was rubbish, not necessarily biased, just crap.
As an aside, I went to Uni in Norwich and loved the place. We jokingly said the campus would make a nice golf course. Anyway, good luck for the rest of the season (except in the return fixture)
I'm sure you'll find your shooting boots soon.

No offence intended, DMD. She went there in 1965 and really liked Hull. It wasn't commonplace, but it was said at least a couple of times. She liked the locals even more for that, coming from Cornwall herself.

Cheers hope Hull do well too.

No arrogance on our part Hull deserved the win , you played Norwich at the perfect time with a manager that hasn't won in 22 games and a squad bereft of confidence.

We also have left backs getting injured every game with 2 going off on a stretcher facing months out .

Yesterday was like a cup game and it was difficult to break down the packed defence .
Hull aren't as good technically but they play with heart and refused to give up that equaliser

I'll agree it was a very sloppy clearance but the reason for the sloppy clearance was due to the pressure he was put under.

I doubt you will see another goal similar to that this season no matter how skilled your attackers are at pressing.

The ball smashed off his team mate's back ffs .

I don't think Hull worked on that on the training ground

It was a golf course before the Uni was built on it

Just like I doubt your player is that **** he'd smash it against his own player if he wasn't under pressure or maybe you are saying he is that ****

Screenshot_20220814-193341_Chrome.jpg Norwich's elderly TV cook doesn't own as much as our squad is worth.

We certainly can't fault the investment on new players at this level
