From the chat earlier in the summer I thought City didn’t want to loan Delap to a PL team and preferred a Championship loan, presumably because they want him to play basically every game. Would love the Prem based forward to be CHO, but probably going to be Sam Surridge
Aouar is apparently going to Nottingham forest. A very good signing for them on paper. Where is all the money coming from? They are signing pretty much a whole new squad. It’ll be something like 15 players won’t it? He was linked with arsenal not long ago. So a move to forest would be a big surprise
City also only wanted to loan Lavia originally from what I saw earlier in the summer. So you never know
Well wonder if there is Interest In Diallo or Moi, perhaps he comes instead of one of these two. Could be that Advanced "8" role.
He seems more advanced than Diallo plays. Would be either a winger in 4-3-3 or one of the “10s” in a 4-2-2-2. Or a support striker in the latter
Fair, I just took from a earlier point being made about him being a advances style midfielder. Wondsd if there is something in this because redmond wasn't even on the bench yesterday! Perhaps he is close to leaving.
We are looking for someone in that position and it have been for a while. Redmond being on the bench or not probably wouldn’t have changed that. I’m not sure how many slots we might have in that position. In the hypothetical scenario where we move on Redmond, Walcott , Tella and Smallbone you’d think there would be more than one spot and that this one might be a lower cost “unexpected opportunity” similar to the links with Edozie earlier in the summer. And that a more accomplished option is still on the cards. But I’m not sure because the above might just demonstrate how bloated we had become in those positions
If the rumoured Nottingham forest transfers go through they will have signed 2 left backs, 2 right backs, 5 central midfielders and 3 strikers. Surely some players are going to be getting annoyed with lack of games: And that isn’t even counting the ones already there who got them up It’s full on Football Manager. I’m intrigued as to how they have talked players into coming who are obvious back ups as you’d think that would be a challenge. Certainly seems to be one we struggle with. Unless some of them really aren’t up to it and that is the reason. But in the case of the forwards on paper they all seem up to it. Seems rather odd. Three 15m+ forwards as well any they already had. If that was the aforementioned computer game you’d get them to sign by telling them all they were “first team” or “key players” and then by mid season when one has had at most 5 starts the complaints will start But maybe it is just envy that they are signing the striker and full back cover that we need and we really should be in the same kind of markets. That said I’m not sure how many of their signings I’d want here (for the terms likely offered / fees paid to rule of the two man united players and the ex Liverpool full back).
I know it says "up to £7m" but if we can get that from him then it would be one of the best pieces of business every. Surely? Even half of that I'm sure I saw this story and saw that the original budget was £1m. Who would they have got for that?
I just hope that if they do come in for him he doesn't blow it by demanding too large a weekly wage. I know Man United overpay but there are still levels to it
7m?! Hasn’t he just signed a new contract? I know he’s not the best in the league but surely an experienced PL keeper should fetch more? If we can get him off the wage bill and Willy’s arthritis isn’t too bad then I suspect we should go for it, but it seems like a pittance these days.
If we can convince anyone to take the whole of McCarthy’s contract off the books then Shields/Crocker et al have played an absolute blinder. No fee really necessary but my God it would be amazing to have put the GK situation to bed after so long chuffing around with having too many of them on big deals that were completely unnecessary. It’s literally been a problem for about 2-3 seasons.
There’s no chance we are getting £7m for McCarthy, would be surprised if there was any fee at all tbh
I feel like Maupay is a good signing for Forest. Or am I blinkered and he's just Brighton's version of Che Adams?
