So you think just having someone penned in their own half that can cross and can't relieve any pressure on the counter is a good idea

ASM's hardly better at relieving pressure when he's trying to messi everyone in his own half and losing the possession, and also being completely useless defensively with low defensive work rate and no defensive awareness what so ever..

Fraser is a better defensive option than ASM.

We don't need ASM to counter. Fraser, Almiron and Wilson is more than enough pace to do this.

I'd only play ASM if he was playing up front.

He does and he doesn't because it's not easy to do what he does. Fraser can't beat a man with the ball and can't dribble at all. He can run in straight lines off the ball and cross.

You're suggesting Newcastle Park the bus and are picking a player simply as you said because he can cross .

What good is crossing when you're in your own half ?

Just played target he can support like Burn failed to yesterday going fwd.. we're unbeaten no need to change it unless you have to.

I never said that. I clearly gave other more important reasons why Fraser should be in the side and you're not even bothering reading them, or just deliberately missing them out in your responses. I'm leaving this conversation if you're going to be like this.

Like what? Of a different opinion? You're entitled to pick fraser it's all hypothetical though .

Howe will pick the best 11 he can

Question... why change an unbeaten side?

    Then stick with what's working.

This idea that Fraser will come in and we'll turn in to real Madrid is highly unlikely I'm afraid

So far we've played Brighton and Nottingham Forest. City are miles better than both offensively.

TBH, ASM may have a great game, but I think he'll be a liability in this one, and may be better playing off the bench,

Steve used to change things , but howe doesn't.

Food for thought for the nufc fans wanting to change a side that's doing well.

Changing it vs City will tell us nothing .

Steve didn’t change anything as that would suggest we had tactics when we didn’t.

As for Howe, it does appear that he doesn’t have any other ideas. For example, bringing on Wood with only 5 minutes to go was pointless. Unless he was doing it to show Roly is right.

We played with zero tactics each and every game

    Pep changes his teams
    Klippety Klopp changes his teams
    Potter changes his teams

    all depending on the opposition.

ASM is a very **** version of HBA. He was a show boat under SB but has shown that with better players around him, with more structure and tactics that he just can’t do it.

A great impact sub just like Wilson would make. However, if we could sell him for £40m and buy Diaby I’d be all for it.

Pep has good players to choose and so does teeth

Newcastle don't, they're doing well and nufc fans think they're better than Brighton I guess.

No, but it was clear once again that ASM is not a top player and, like HBA, if he isn’t in his game he’sa complete waste of a player.
