Any update on Halil Dervişoğlu? Thought Shota sounded promising when asked about him after the game, plus he was left out the squad. Is it close or am I getting carried away?
I don't know much about him but had a read of the Brentford forum and they couldn't believe it. Near enough all of them said he's way too good for the championship
Think there's a bit of 'Stockholm syndrome' amongst our ranks having been held hostage to Ehab for half a decade. Acun is playing a big boys game and putting money where his mouth is, not playing with crayons. KLP might have thought Brentford might be a better move for his career, but whilst it isn't done yet, it seems we might have a young Turkish lad thinking the opposite.
Up top or 10. And unlike McCann, Shota will change formation to suit who's fit and who we're playing. Worked a treat today. Formation shift got the result and preserved our blue chips for Tuesday. Yes it got nervy, but the subs were the right call.
Obviously not bad to have options to choose from but he’s not going to go in front of Ozan or Oscar surely? Only thing I could think of is if he we go back to 3 at the back once injuries pass.
Over-thinking it. Ozan can play anywhere in midfield. He might be impressive as a 10, but he's traditionally deeper. All the squad will pick up knocks, need resting etc. Would think young Tyler would be scratching harder for starts as opposed to the other two over a season though.
He's just as bad as that as well saying we/our kid would not sign SerI ....... Anyway back to school in Sept for Vern and his kid
'His kid' must be posting a lot under different names though. It was the consensus last night that we missed Honeyman and Smallwood and haven't replaced them. I'd say we have with more complete players already. Slater did Smallwood role with aplomb in L1 2 seasons ago. And I wouldn't trade Ozan for George right now. I get that emotional attachments are sometimes difficult to break for some fans though.
Only player I fear for with the incoming is Regan Slater. Mightily impressive but he’s only got his chance due to Adama’s injury.
No. He'd always get his chance in a midfield 3 when we only have him, Seri, tufan. Doc as realistic options, even if Traore was fit. Traore was envisaged as the attacking spur to the midfieldt; a more direct Honeyman replacement if you like, which Slater isn't. Cannon won't be around much longer - or if he is won't be getting much of a sniff unless there's an injury crisis. Slater might well have been given an earlier opportunity to make the shirt his own, but I'd say its his now to lose. And rightly so.
Thought I’d seen Yagiz quote Acun in the summer say that he was going to make the midfield of Adama, Seri and Tufan but can’t find the evidence of it now so maybe it was a fixture of my imagination. It really will be an embarrassment of riches at the top end of the pitch if Halil comes and the injured come back to fitness. Still desperate to see who the out and out ‘number 10’ will be. Starting to think it might be Pelkas again.
If you want to play a midfield 3 with only 3 midfielders over 46 + games then you're probably an internet ****er like Yagiz. ... And it won't be an embarrassment of riches, If they live up to the investment expectations, and it's still an If, it'll be a competitive squad capable of top 10. Nothing more, nothing less.
Looked back for this post. For a WUM you predicted pretty well. Hope you got more back on the weekends slip than SW3...
Vern wont be around much when we're doing OK. He will stick the boot in when he can, in a trolling capacity.
Dunno if Greavsie watched the Brentford game, but his pal didn't get a kick despite being 4 up at half time. The allure of the Premier league. Sure it was great for Keano, getting splinters in his arse and all that. We go 2 up and play Covill. They go 4 up and don't even give Keano a cameo. Sure the grass is greener.
Seems hes only worried about the money. Doubtful he even cares. His agent got in his head too much according to what acun was saying
