Just got home. Well I absolutely loved that! Buzzing. Missed the first home game as I was on holiday. I was hoping the atmosphere would live up to the hype of the Bristol City game and it certainly did that. Not experienced a city home atmosphere like that in a long time! Although it was controversial at the time, a great decision to move the home fans to the north stand as it makes such a difference. What a change from the last few seasons. As for the match, after the first 5 minutes I thought we were in for a long afternoon. We should have been dead and buried. But the sheer resilience and work rate saw us through. Tufan looks like a class act. So many good performances. Ingram is awesome. Oscar has that killer goal instinct. The Greaves situation needs sorting ASAP. Yes we rode our luck at times but the old adage of you make your own luck at times and sometimes it is about hanging on to seal the victory. Agree that the ref was awful. Can’t wait to go to Burnley on Tuesday. With players to come back from injury and new signings yet to arrive, I think we are in for a very exciting season. UTT! On another note, 4-0 to Brentford has topped off the day! Man Utd bottom of the league.
Park the yacht in Hull Marina, use the cash saved from flying out to the med to pay a nanny to do the kids taxiing on a matchday. That work for ya SW3?
Anyone else think of Castro when we were singing "how **** must you be, you sit down away" at the Norwich fans?
I didn’t think the ref had a bad game at all. What was wrong with him? Granted let a lot go but that was true for both teams. If anything the biggest decision he got wrong went in our favour when Greaves pulled Pukki down and he waved play on.
There was a foul on Allahyr which he waved play on just before Norwich broke from there to the edge of our area where their player threw himself on the floor and the ref nearly choked on the whistle in his haste to blow for the free kick from which they scored At one point I thought he was going to take the free kick himself. And he missed three handballs in the first half, all stonewall penalties for us. Where did seven minutes of injury time come from ? And he had no right trying to hurry Ingram taking goal kicks or making Tettah walk around the pitch when he was subbed. How did he know he wasn't injured ? Where does it say in the rule book that the keeper has to run behind the goal, collect the ball himself and take the goal kick without pausing from breath and all within a second of the ball going dead ? He was a ****.
