what happens when these economic migrants keep coming, what happens when they suddenly start hitting millions rather than tens or hundreds of thousands, how many have since applied for family (all these women and children we never seem to see) we only need one to get into the country then his entire family can claim they need to come here as 'they have family' already here. sorry, i agree with most of what is said, i would far rather help someone out than turn my back but there HAS to be limits, we cannot keep bending the rules/laws/legality with new 'buzz phrases' to stamp down on anyone with a differing opinion, we cannot keep calling people rascists simply because they do not agree with the extreme views of others who think they are right because they take the moral high ground. i know the type of reply this post will get, have seen enough of them...yes we need to help others and i would hope that should not need to be said but these days it does, yes these people are as deserving of a better life as any other and yes we are lucky living where we are even though our leaders are corrupt to sh1t but surely there is a better way to do it, to bring people in steadily AND safely so they know and we know who is here and where they are...some arrive here expecting almost instant wealth and large houses and when it does not happen they get angry with us, there needs to be better education of the worlds peoples so they know that although they might get help when they first arrive that they also need to work for a living, same as anyone else, also, full and true families (both parents and children) should have a better chance than just a single young man/lad. anyway, will leave it there and await the expected name calling and being put down.
You won’t get any from me mate. Some of the lads on here live in a fantasy world, certainly a nice world but nothing like the one we live in. I totally dismiss Flash Gordon, I think he just has bets with his mates on here, how many times he can get the word xenophobic in his reply. I have probably shared my home with more foreign and black people than he’s had ****s, I bet he’s never had one in his house.
I think there should be limits in line with other nations. I said earlier that I think even unaccompanied children should have limits because dog put resources. We should pretend our problem is bigger when it’s not, different when it’s not, we should work cooperatively with Europe Brexit or not, we should have the same rules for blacks browns Muslims in war and poverty the same as Ukraine. We should remove those who aren’t here with respect and dignity and take into account where families and connections are before housing them to somewhere entirely disconnected. We should stop talking about migrants like they are dangerous invaders. People on here have moved to other places from their home - I have. Because they get on a boat doesn’t make them a soldier.
I agree with everything except the world is not that simple, why have we not got boat loads of Ukrainian lads pouring into the country, they are getting blew to bits, and one of your earlier posts suggests anyone can move here if they want a better life. I’m afraid it doesn’t work like that.
We took in Syrian women and children a few year back when they were under siege. The Ukrainian men have stayed to fight. Men from other countries tend to run. I think that annoys people. When there's boat loads of them and people think why aren't you like the Ukrainians fighting for your families and land.
The deterrent is already there. Handing your life savings to a gang of criminals, travelling thousands of miles and arriving in a desease ridden camp in Northern France .... ... only to have the option of suffocating in the back of a lorry or drowning in the Channel while trying to cross in a leaky boat. I don't think being sent to a Rwandan hotel, with money & meals provided plus the chance of being declared 'English', is too much on top tbh ... ... they're not exactly being sent there on a chain gang breaking rocks.
