With a host of Europes top clubs linked with the young Belgian and a recent interview with french publication L'Equipe in which he stated he will probably be looking for a step up next season what sort of price will this kid be demanding come next summer?

If a bidding war ensues especially with interest from the likes of Arsenal, City, Liverpool, Chelsea and a host of top Italian and Spanish clubs the cash needed to secure this kids signature could be huge.

I think he's got oooodles of talent and will be a great catch for whoever signs him <ok>

He will probably end up in Spain like they all seem to be doing now. If it's money they are after English clubs may pay more but they are getting taxed to **** in England.

I can guess he'll go to either Man City, Chelsea, Real Madrid or Bayern.

He's a top player, and he'll go to a top team and until we get into the champions league, I'm not sure we can be in the running for him. If we finish 4th this season, then we might well be in the running.

In order to attract these types of player, we need Champions League next season.

He is a top player though and I would definately have him.

Yeah I meant to put that in my original post about champs league being essential to even make it worth while bidding for him <ok> would love to see him at Anfield but agree he'll most likely end up in Spain with Madrid. Nice thought though eh <laugh>

Hence maybe the re-look at 3rd party ownership. Hence we sign Hazard but he and his agent set up a registered company somewhere in the world that has lower tax responsibilities and the club conduct all financial dealing through that company. It doesn't remove all tax liability but could reduce it significantly.

Even with CL I don't reckon it'd be enough. Such a shame, god knows why we're paying almost all Cole's wages when it was said it would get us a foot in the door re. Hazard! <doh>

It's something that I'm sure will be revisited - there is too much money in the Premiership for it not to be looked at again as it's currently putting some players off joining the EPL.

Is he a LW or RW?
Real Madrid currently have Di Maria, Coentrao, Altintop, Ronaldo, Ozil and Callejon who do or can play on the wings, not to mention Pedro Leon and Drenthe who are out on loan.
If he goes there, I'm not sure how much game time he'll get. Could be similar to Afellay at Barca.
The average life span must be about 2 seasons at RM, unless you're exceptional like Ronaldo.

I think comolli will be key to is having any chance at all in signing him. This will prove that fsg fully trust comolli's vision for the team and this would be a major coup for him.

There'll only be a couple of teams that are able to afford him. Man City, Real Madrid and possibly Barcelona.

in the end there are perhaps..... perhaps 10 premier clubs in europe.

Real, barca, utd, city (yes city), chelsea, juve, inter, AC, Bayern... and thats about it.. the last name is debateable.

The point is every bloody player wants the big club and the big salary but there are only so many shirts to go round. Frankly city, barca, real, proabably utd and chelsea are pretty much full up on wingers right now. so that leave the italains who don't have the cash right now it seems....

SO all in all IF we get into the CL by beating out arsenal and tottenham and we can offer 120k per week then i think we've a shot of we want it.... but i think comolli wants to be the guy buying the player while he's on the up not already hyped to the nth degree.

Real Madrid didn't really need Ozil, Sahin and Coentrao, yet they made enough room for them when they became available. Similarly Barca didn't really need Afellay, Sanchez and Fabregas yet found plenty of money and room for them in the squad! Story is the same with City and Dzeko, Nasri, Milner and Savic. Don't think they care about where he's going to play in the team, they worry about that after he's signed and getting pictures taken with his name on the back of their kit. They'll manage to make room for him because he's a world class talent.

I think you're underestimating Bayern Munich there. The German league may not have the glamour of some of the others, but they pretty much own it right now.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2042168/Bayern-Munichs-Manuel-Neuer-shows-little-fair-play-money-talk-MARTIN-SAMUEL.html

"In 2009-10, when the last figures were published, they (Munich) earned £150m commercially - more than the entire revenue stream at Manchester City, or even at a Champions League regular such as Olympique Lyonnais of France. Their nearest commercial rival in Europe would be Real Madrid, who earn £17.3m less. Manchester United, with the greatest commercial revenue in the Premier League, trail Munich by £63.91m."

If they wanted to chuck like 300k a week at him, they could, and it'd fit into the FFP rules because they can cover it easily. In fact, they could afford to do that and still make more money than Real Madrid.
