Norwich fans due on mass. They can’t wait to spend the day away from Norwich in the 2017 City of Culture. They set off Thursday morning in a procession of Tractors.

If Seri is injured, I’d like to see:

    442
    Ingram
    Elder, Greaves, Fig/Jones, Coyle
    Tetteh, Slater, Tufan, Williams
    Estupinan, Allahyar

I don’t think we can play the usual formation with all these injuries. Unless someone can show me a good enough starting 11 with it. I’m struggling for the 3rd spot in midfield.

Alan Partridge was there to wave them off with the accompaniment of 'Go now' and the sound track of 'The Sound of Music.'

The 'wich' in its name means it was originally a salt-mining settlement

Norwich was the first place in England to introduce a local newspaper in 1701 and postcodes in 1959. This means it has had more 'Ed's' than all the hotels in Portugal.

Norwich is home to one of only two dedicated puppet theatres in the UK

Norwich Market is one the oldest and the largest open air market in the country.

Norwich is the only UK city to have been excommunicated by the Pope

Sixteen Revelations Of Divine Love by Dame Julian of Norwich, written about 1393, is thought to have been the first book in English written by a woman.

Norwich has the largest walled centre and longest run of medieval defences in England.

The spire of Norwich Cathedral is 315 feet high – second only to that of Salisbury.

The Norfolk coastline was the first part of Britain settled by early man.The earliest known British settlement is in Happisburgh, Norfolk.

Not really Norwich, and a bit long but I couldn't resist it. The Reverend Harold Davidson of Stiffkey in north Norfolk was unfrocked in 1932. Known as the Prostitutes' Padre as a result of his tireless efforts to save hundreds of vulnerable girls from a life on the streets, he divided his time between his sleepy Norfolk parish and the seamy back alleys of Soho.
The Bishop of Norwich hired a private detective to follow Reverend Davidson around London, but found little credible evidence against him. Nevertheless, Davidson was found guilty of five charges of immoral conduct.
His response to the withdrawal of his clerical stipend was to turn himself into a seaside performer, protesting his innocence in bizarre ways such as conducting a hunger strike in a barrel at Blackpool, pretending to be roasted on the spit by the devil and appearing in Skegness as Daniel in a den of real lions. This went horribly wrong when he accidentally stood on the tail of one of the lions and was mauled to death.

Must be great living in a football city where they have sold out their season tickets for 16 seasons running, despite prices being far higher than ours, and where they can sell out for the long journey to places like Hull.

You must tell us what all these people are doing in Hull to keep them away from football that there isn’t to do elsewhere.
Having no rugby clubs shows the much older city of Norwich has always had better taste.

We'll certainly struggle to field 3 midfielders if Seri is injured, but I don't think that needs to affect the back 3 does it? Surely we'd go 3-4-3 like last season:

    Jones Fig Greaves
    Coyle Slater Tufan Elder
    Allahyar Oscar Tetteh

Some things are self fulfilling it becomes something to be part of like it was for me - but not enough others. Like our first home match if we keep marketing it and telling people how good it is and the atmosphere etc they will come but - we also need results
As rugby has always been there it’s a problem - trouble is we declined when rugby succeeded here so lots of parents brought their kids up to follow rugby - most of them will be in their mid late 50’s and a bit above
Most of the city fans who saw success years ago are i their mid sixties and well above . Only problem is we had the best success recently and they still haven’t stayed but I think they’ll be back quicker

It looks good, if played as a 3-4-3. However, I think Coyle and Elder would naturally sit deeper and it would become more of a 5-2-3. I think the strikers would hardly see the ball in that case.

    352 or 442
Think we should try allahyar as a number 10 he barely gets to touch the ball uptop

Well, my last live game before going back, and 2 grandsons in tow, really looking forward to it. In the south stand, so hoping for some vocal participation from this area.

Tough one to call, not sure these days what to expect, Norwich is off to a slow start, hoping it will be the same tomorrow. I would be happy with another draw, just keep the unbeaten run going.

I would like to see us play 4 at the back with A Jones in front as defensive midfielder.

    Maybe this?
    Ingram
    Coyle, Figgy, Greaves, Elder
    A Jones
    Seri Slater
    Tufan
    Oscar Allahyar

Hmm…would be interesting. It’d depend whether Allahyar would naturally stay further up. Which would again, cause the same issue as before. I think Shota certainly has his work cut out this weekend!

They aren’t my lot. Though my Norwich City supporting acquaintance fully expects my lot to beat his lot as he thinks they are piss poor at the moment.

Not bad, if Seri is available. There’s talks that he might not be fit (injury thread)

True about the rugby. Then there was the time speedway wa the best supported of the Hull teams. Hull doesn’t associate with its football club and feel it represents the city in the way Derby, Sunderland, Portsmouth and similar sized cities to Hull without rugby clubs do. Leeds which has a more successful rugby club than Hull doesn’ either. The local media knows which club there. Is the most widely known.
