It's unbelievable that like. I often hear that football is broken and that's exactly why.
There's no denying he's got talent and I'd say top end Championship is about his level, but he's just not worth 32k per week. I'm pleased we've moved on but I'd like to see some transfer movement very quickly.

I would be surprised if there was not some form of wage cap with a pecking order.

Yeah I think you are right mate. I just am intrigued as to what it is, at the upper end. There are players I would love us to be interested in, but they are established Championship players and likely on good wages. If we are setting our bar at a moderate level then it will perhaps explain why we havent made a major splash as of yet. I remain convinced this league is wide open and now is a good time to make a push.

With every respect is there a chance that that's a month and not per week?

    The numbers dont make sense

Why give him a 52-week extension of £32k per week - at a cost of £1.7million in wages alone? Unless they think they can sell him for a lot, lot more than that?

I like to keep my football philosophy simple..

You need a good keeper (backed by solid defenders) i would pay over the odds for a good keeper. If you keep a clean sheet you do not lose.

The knack of scoring goals is a rare talent, that is why I like two natural goalscorers in the team (with midfielders providing the ammo), more chance of scoring, increased chance of winning. You have to willing to pay over the odds for these players.

Atm we have a good/decent homegrown talent as a keeper... we need imho 2 more strikers..

You see, I thought last night showed how short we are in centre mid. Our back up is not good enough, and that's the back up to Evans and Neil (who didn't even play for the last 2 months in league 1). I thought we needed one centre mid but I think we need 2.

    Even worse for strikers
But yes even the commentators were saying how poor we were in midfield.

Diamond (really a winger) ploughed a lone furrow, nobody was helping him, or passed to him when he was making runs

Who knows? But I'd say the signs are that we will definitely have a stable wage structure and won't be going for players who would want deals that would breach it.

I'm not sure it's possible, and I doubt we have the cash anyway, but we will not be trying to blast out way out of this league .

actually, i think it has been a very quiet window in general, even the premier league ins and outs have been done on the quiet compared to the months of usual speculation (barring one or two of course)...guess Sly are asking a few to hold a few back till deadline day so they can claim 'exclusives' from the men at the grounds.

Couldn't agree more. Hate signing players because you're in panic mode because you're struggling.

Got to be looking at real quality players otherwise they would be through the door already. We will have competition no doubt, I reckon we might be surprised at the calibre of players we want

I suppose that means I should stop dreaming about Harry Winks in the red and white <laugh>

Hopefully though I can still hope for Ryan Woods or Gary Gardner from Brum! Anyone got Craig's number?
