Sunday 13th August 4.30pm
Premier League
Stamford Bridge

No official injury news yet, but it appears that only Skipp may be absent.
Richarlison returns from his suspension and may make his debut in some fashion.

Lineups for each side's last league game:

Spurs: Lloris; Romero, Dier, Davies; Royal, Bentancur, Hojbjerg, Sessegnon; Kulusevski, Kane, Son.
Subs: Forster, Doherty, Spence, Sanchez, Langlet, Perisic, Bissouma, Gil, Moura.

Chelsea: Mendy; Azpilicueta, Koulibaly, Silva; James, Kante, Jorginho, Chilwell; Mount, Sterling, Havertz.
Subs: Kepa, Chalobah, Cucurella, Loftus-Cheek, Kovacic, Gallagher, Ziyech, Pulisic, Broja.

Ref: Anthony Taylor. Beloved by both sides. VAR: Mike "Haven't You Gone Yet?" Dean.

TV: Sky Sports.

How would you like to line up for this one?

Probably lean towards keeping the same team, RWB being the main one I'd debate changing but away to Chelsea, you'd imagine they'll be more attack minded than Saints and whilst Emerson is poor in the final third, he's generally a good defender so I'd prefer him up against someone like Sterling. Sess keeps his spot after a good opening game, albeit I do think we'll see Perisic in the XI within the next few games but it's good that Sess hopefully won't go down without a fight. Richarlison will be in the squad too so our bench will have some very decent options on there with him, Bissouma and Perisic amongst others.

I wish we'd had a few more games before we met this lot. They seem to pull out some of their best football against us. We are in a much better place than when we met them last season but in four or five games time I really expect us to push on. My expectations are not too high at this stage.

Really really hate losing to this lot. We are in a better position, and I think we are fitter, which might become relevant. Don't forget they don't have a real striker and weren't brilliant against Everton. And if we leave it a couple of games they'll probably have bought five more players. Though why someone like Connor Gallagher stays with them is beyond me, since whenever he gets close to the first team they'll just buy someone in ahead of him.

I mentally write off both Chelsea games at the start of the season. They just always seem to find a way against us.

Anything is a bonus point tbh, especially away from home.

Did I mention how much I hate Chelsea? Lucky toy club plaything for a billionaire that I thought would get put in their place when he was forced out. Now bizarrely rescued for multiples of what it's worth and they're buying every player available. Talk about lucky again.

Anyway, just wanted to mention it as I haven't said how much I hated Chelsea since 12:34.

Plus I forgot to give an important parcel to the courier a few minutes ago and now I've got to drive to the bastard depot in bastard Dagenham.

Yeah I’m similar, same for Liverpool.

Albeit losing to Chelsea hurts way more.

On paper we’re good enough to go there and get a point but paper means nothing really.

Huge game for week 2, a win would be a real boost and really mark us down as contenders given our record at Stamford Bridge. But given that record and the fact that they are constantly lucky in this fixture if you offered me a draw today I would shake hands on it and walk on to week 3.

I don't see changes to the starting 11, but the bench will be improved with Richarlison for Gil, and if he is fit Skipp I guess for Spence.

As the years go by, there are fewer Chelsea players that truly understand and feel this derby. Gone are Terry, Lampard, Alonso and Rudiger.

We have a great opportunity I just hope we take it.

That didn't seem to be the case last season?

We are better than them on paper, I firmly believe that.

There's just something about this fixture where we go flaccid for 90mins almost every single time. Must be a psychological thing.

In any event, the Cave will be open from noon Sunday. Due to the recent lack of rainfall, water levels have plummeted revealing a previously undiscovered alcove. Our staff found a lifelike effigy of Samir Nasri in full Spurs regalia. Can't imagine who put it there or why <whistle>

One of the most disappointing things about last season was the way we capitulated to this lot , Conte seemed to know we had no chance and that reflected on the pitch

Conte’s said Skipp’s still a couple weeks away and Lenglet will also miss the game, has adductor fatigue so nothing too serious I’d imagine.
