How can he generate money?, times have changed, the only teams with money are PL, unless a PL team makes an offer for one of our players there is no way NP can generate any. I accept he hasn’t got as much out of the players at his disposal as he should, but to accuse him of not generating money is just not right surely.

What do expect when our team has been floating around relegation for the past 3 seasons, doesn't show a Good light on them, especially when we have a so say decent manager coaching them...They are unaware that he might not be all that and maybe like you, will only see it the players falling short on the pitch, but when we do well it must be all down to NP.. :emoticon-0105-wink:

Bottom line is this club was in a bad bad place when he arrived and the crap he is dealing with i'm amazed he want this **** to deal with he could have gone to a club in a far better place than us but he wanted the challenge.
fair play to him he don't need the money that for sure.
A billionaire owner who has allowed a joker to run the club and it SLs own words i trusted people more than i should have.
With the money he has blown we really should have been fighting for a prem spot.
Apart from the Hull playoff we have never come close in all the years he has owned the club.

NP was dealt a poor hand, but he knew the score, despite everything I don’t think he’s performed as well as we’d hoped. There are mitigating circumstances, with players running down contracts, and no money to improve the squad, however as I’m sure he’d be the first to agree, it’s a performance/ points based business and clearly he needs to improve, and quickly.

I would think that Weimann, Bentley and a fit Kalas would be attractive to some other teams in this league. Probably Klose as well - plus Williams when fit.

I think more of the argument is, most of us can see, we do have players that can actually play Good football and are capable of much better results..For some reason NP & Co don't seem to be able to communicate the right tactics or generate the right mentality, how to win or hold onto a lead....the fear I have, its been the same since he arrived and doesn't seem to have improved
Sometimes its not just about money..

NP took over a club which had only just missed out on a playoff place in the final couple of games of the previous 2 seasons.

I get that and can’t disagree, for what it’s worth I thought he’d tighten us defensively and make us hard to beat, I like his honesty, even Saturday after the game he pointed out the problem, but what frustrates me is he doesn’t seem to have an answer, he’s the manager, sort it out ffs .

That’s a bit rose tints imo.. LJ delivered the best this club has achieved since the days of Alan Dicks.. Had players pulled from underneath him as the team/squad was starting to gel.
I believe NP saw us as a challenge, nearly but not quite achieving the ultimate and thought he had the answers, maybe thinking he had what it takes to take this club further.. As it’s turned out, so far, nothing has improved..
I also don’t see it that SLs the bad guy, ploughing plenty of money and time into the club.. but naive in how to get run a football team to progress where he wants it.. It’s a bit of a rich man’s toy, that he should have left well alone and left to the experts..

As has been repeatedly stated they gave LJ 4.5 years to succeed, invested millions, signed a record host of players and after contiuous streaky seasons, gaining 5 places progress only in those 4.5 years, he was sacked for failing to reach standards set by SL 6 months into his last season, the downward spiral that started during his last period has continued until this day.

Not once were we looking down at the bottom 3 with any thought of relegation..
How things have changed and not how I envisaged “progress”!!

Just out of interest, who will get credit for bringing those two to the club when they both go?

    * In December 2019, Scott signed a pre-contract agreement with Championship side Bristol City. Having initially linked up with the club's academy, Scott signed his first professional contract with Bristol City in March 2021.
    * Antoine Semenyo In June 2019, he signed a new four-year contract with the club.
The Academy graduate was recalled by Lee Johnson in January 2019, going on to make four Sky Bet Championship appearances.

So MA/ LJ were behind getting them?
It’s something that those 2 get no credit for selling Reid, Flint, Kodjia and Bryan so whoever sells Scott and Semenyo should not be credited for either.
Reid is a weird one, without desperate measures accidental or on purpose. Without being pushed up front was worth £250k. Even RR kept running polls that season saying Taylor was the better striker (LJ signing).
I’m glad LJ has left the club, but people are so blinkered by his time that are ignoring the fact. When he was here we finished and won more than Nige.
I desperately wanted Nige to succeed, but I’m starting to wonder was his success down to Walsh finding the players and Shakespeare training them?

But by the same token people will say he hasn’t been given any. This is the point, nobody has money, not just City, but others have spent better, used the loan system better than we have in the last 18 months.

Semenyo only started to produce under Nige and Scott again only starting showing his potential under Nige.

That’s because their development was manged well over the previous 3–4 years to get them to this point. NP is reaping the benefits of others work. Name an NP signing who stands out right now?

So the reason we recalled him from Newport where he had rave reviews and Chelsea sniffing around years ago was a dream we all had then. Or if you could not see he had raw talent back then, you’re dafter than we first thought.

raw talent is not good enough ROD the kid gave no end product as you now it’s only came to fruition under Nige.
When he is on song he has it all and defenders **** themselves.
