Love the attacking talent we have in the team at the minute. Teams struggle with the step up from L1 due to lack of goals but dont think thatll be an issue for us this season.

Still think promotion will be a huge challenge as lots of quality teams but do think a top half finsih is realistic

I think if we get 3 further additions in ( striker, defensive midfielder and GK) we will make the play offs

Shore up at the back and we’ll have an outside chance of a play-off push late on in the season. We’ll have no bother scoring goals…

He's unbelievable. Apart from his obvious quality on the ball he never stops grafting. He's always chasing the opposition down and leading the press. Some guy was suggesting he was a luxury yesterday, I don't agree.

Our problem seems to be defensive, better finishing from them yesterday and it could have been different. They put a few wide that should have at least tested the keeper. When

I trust Neil will get that sorted soon and the lads will adapt. We are dangerous going forward though and it's good to watch. We put turned the screw yesterday and Bristol couldn't cope after our third we seemed to sit back a bit and that is when we struggle!

I think defence will improve with familiarity no complaints with the individuals we have.

We look super competitive and that battling spirit remains from last season.

Really ****ing happy with where we are.

Aye he is hardly one of those players that does nothing until he has the ball at his feet. Along with Clarke yesterday they both showed they are very good and will easily shine at this level.

I wasn't convinced on Clarke until the play offs. Didn't really get going before then imo. However he has hit the ground running and is standing out now!

    True this

My mate was a very good footballer back in the day. He played at semi pro level and might have went higher but he had a good job and those days it wasn't worth the risk of jacking it in.

Anyway, he was a striker and he once tod me that he would often aim low at the keeper's feet saying it could go through or to either side as the keeper was set. You see it a lot.

    That would be me.

There was method in my madness though all be it not very good method in thinking that we MAY have a better shape defensively and attacking wise it we didn't accommodate him

That would be frightening, giving us hope of going up in our first season, I really hope not.

Pritchard is one of those players that can really influence games on and off the ball. He is quality. He is 29 and I think is just coming into his prime, creative types often do get better with age, particularly when pace isnt a massive part of his game. He doesnt have a lot of miles on the clock either in terms of games played over his career. I saw him a lot at Norwich where he was brilliant, but could drift in and out of games at times. As he is more experienced he is better though, and like I say those natural footballers often take that time to learn how to influence games more. Still think he was at fault for their second yesterday mind, but he stood up afterwards and more than made amends. Top player.

Defensive mid is the key one, Ideally I would love 2 more CMs as its our weakest area imo. I trust the club to get it spot on though

Well played. First half I thought we just edged it and probably should have added a second. But second half we couldn’t live with you tbh. Your 3 man press dominated our back line. You were better all over the pitch second half, winning almost every second (and most first) ball. The young lad Simms looked a handful, time will tell against better defences the ours how good he can be at this level, but a promising start! Great support as well!

not sure if this has been mentioned, but watched simms 2nd goal a few times now...in real time it looks fine but in slo-mo replay after his first touch the ball seems to accelerate to the left and there did not seem any great spin on the ball.

is it just me or did that actually happen as to not only get it back under control but also to score was damn good.

One of the best away days for a while (not including Wembley) . Great catch up with good friends. A really enjoyable game both teams playing decent football no diving some cracking tackles going in and both teams trying to play football. 1st half was fairly even with Bristol probably just shading it. At 2-1 down I’ve seen us fold so many times but we got back level quickly which was decisive and then took control of the game and deserved the 3points. Bristol will beat some good teams and will be a handful at times. As for us steady at the back very good going forward Pritchard is a quality footballer and the front 2 will cause every team a problem big and powerful. Big shout out to Clarke who puts a lot of cracking defensive cover in and also had their full back beaten every time he got the ball 2nd half going forward and also Evans who seemed to get better as the went on. I still think we need a right full back and a couple of big powerful experienced mid fielders to control the pace of play when needed. I don’t think we ever win a header in the middle of the park and are very lightweight. A really enjoyable but long day out but well worth the effort. On we go. Keep the faith lads and lasses.
