He's gone back to Toronto, but it's the PL loan with lots of international experience Baz was talking about
I'm just not sold on the formation yet. The forwards they brought in need good service from proper wingers to be effective. This "diagonal cross from the wing back" thing isn't working so far in my opinion.
Point’s a point. Keep up the 2pts a game average & we’ll be Champions come May. Nobody said it wouldn’t be frustrating at times. We march on, unbeaten.
Just read Shota's comments about the forwards - said he took them both off at once because they were running on empty. Hinted that they both need to get used to the intensity of the Championship. He took a gamble in his substitutions, but accepted it didn't really change much
A few penalty shouts for them, couldn't see them as they were at the other end. Haven't seen any whinging about them from any preston fans so I assume none of them were controversial, or they're just not a load of whinging ****s
Preston boss Ryan Lowe told BBC Radio Lancashire: "We should have won. The football we played was fantastic. Over 500 passes and more than 20 shots - seven or nine on target - and plenty of deliveries into the box. "The chances that we missed, I'm confident the lads will put them into the back of the net, once they've found the net once. "I'm proud of the way the boys are playing. It's all positive, there are no negatives, we're not that far away from a win. "We haven't lost a game and we haven't conceded a goal. I'm pleased but frustrated." Hull boss Shota Arveladze told BBC Radio Humberside: "I'm happy with a point. The first half was quite even but the second half we gave away the ball too easily. "Our strikers didn't have many chances. We needed some fresh legs upfront. The boys need more minutes and more games and we will work on this to get fit. Our back three Greaves, Figueiredo and Jones, plus Ingram in goal were a ll great today."
I've seen nowt of the game as I'm holed up near the Scottish border with limited contact to civilization, but reading the jist of this thread... The manager's way out of his depth. Neither of our new strikers is a striker's arsehole. Our midfield is bab, slow, unfit and full of ****ing midgets*. Our keeper's a worldy (at least until he next concedes). We have no one at the club who can cross a ball. Oh, and Covil is literally the worst player to ever pull on a HCAFC shirt in one hundred and eighteen years. And yet we are unbeaten and have four points out of six. I'm away to support a decent Championship team like Norwich, Boro or Bristol City. Edit: * I've just read this back and I don't mean this comment in a Pornhub sort of way, just that they're not very tall.
Surprised to see so much negativity. We obviously weren't going to win every game and never be on the back foot; even if we were to win the league there'd be games like today occasionally. Surely the crucial thing is that we got a result when we did have to play backs to the wall. That's two weeks in a row we've snatched a result we've had to fight for. We never used to squeeze out a result under McCann so we've come a long way already. People criticising Shota's subs is particularly strange since they clearly had the desired effect in helping us grind out the point.
I agree HT, just think we need to replace that profile of midfielder that Smallwood was if we plan on using that style of play more.
Can we stop saying we miss Smallwood and Honeyman? They've had their time with us and now belong to other Clubs, they're history.
