Why do people continually say this when it’s bollocks? I don’t even think the opinion is especially contentious now. But some people might disagree, and being a discussion forum they express their disagreement. The whole “you’re not allowed to say x” is just irritating bollocks, sorry. But that’s just my opinion. Feel free to disagree.
That today showed absolutely Zero improvement on last season. In this league especially this season, you cannot wait around when the inevitable needs to happen. Should have gone at the end of last season. Good Bye Ralph.
Go out and offer Poch a great deal and get him in working with youngsters again. That’s where he’s at his best. Still time to do some good business in this window.
Fair enough if you want Ralph out, but try and be realistic on potential replacements! Poch is not coming back here.
I think people forget that you can have an opinion Like the thinking, but Poch walks into almost any team he wants still. We need to find the next Poch.
FWIW Ralph deserves until the World Cup break to see if he can deliver with these new signings. We're also not done in the transfer market. I was a bit baffled by ABK not coming on ahead of Stephens but he can't be blamed for Salisu's own goal - that was just comically bad defending.
We'll be as good as down if we wait till then. Absolutely nothing has changed from last season in terms of his team selection, substitutions, tactics and game management.
Yeah kept Burnley up for a decade was it? Think he’d do well for a club like ours. We never would though, if Ralph were to go we’d target a 20 year old just doing his coaching badges
Why wouldn’t he? At best he’s going to have to sit out until the World Cup to see if any of the big boys sack their manager, it’s then no gimme that he’ll get the job. Man Utd went for TH instead of him, none of the premier leagues top 6 will sack there manager early, neither will Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich etc. if we went now, offered him a project, who knows. I was listening to Andy Brassell (European Football Expert)a while ago who said that Poch did nothing at Paris to enhance his reputation of managing big players with big egos, and that he would probably have to take on a project again to start again?
It feels like the tide is turning amongst fans. This poll is quite old now, can we set up a new poll? This one is showing 75% support for Ralph which I don’t think is current.
The clock is ticking and Ralph will know that we have to be better than we were today. There isn't much point in selecting a defensive line up if it compromises the attacking play and still concedes 4 goals. I'm still waiting for that defensive leader to come in and hopefully the owners have noticed and we can bring one in before the end of the window, Ralph's job may depend on it.
Everyone was impressed with signings and the changes in back room staff so I’m slightly surprised that the debate has resurfaced so soon. Even the pessimists were giving him until the World Cup break a couple of weeks back. It’s right to have the debate though; I’m wavering a little bit and would certainly welcome Poch back. In truth though, that would mean paying huge compensation to both the manager and his back room staff just weeks after paying huge compensation to his back room staff. Put simply, it’s not going to happen. Financially it would be worse than relegation.
Understand the disappointment but he has demonstrated in the past that he can motivate the team, surely it would make sense to wait until the end of the window + 4 to 5 games.
We’ve backed him this far, so yes. I don’t expect things to change though. Will be pleasantly surprised if they do though.
We’ve won one game since March. Battled to an undeserved 1-0 against arsenal. Before that we beat Norwich on Feb 25th. That was probably the last time we played well in a game. Conceded over 30 in that time whilst scoring 5. We are strong relegation candidates unless he stops playing the wrong players
