Throwing him into a senior game when you’re up against it isn’t doing him any favours. Management sent him to the abattoir this afternoon.
Come on fella. Let's just give it a bit of time before we start entrenching ourselves in negative opinions. Two games in we just don't know enough about this team and the new players yet. Let's be happy with a good point away from home.
'paper thin'? Not up to speed yet with almost a newly assembled team. Fought like hell second half, and if we can challenge for the ball on the front line then we'll do well this season.
Yeah, he just doesn’t look mature enough for the men’s game yet. Not a bad player but not ready to be making the bench in the Championship.
I'd start both Oscar and Tetteh at Bradford. Both look like they lack sharpness and could do with a goal.
It's a great point and we've started the season well in terms of results. I think we'd have all taken 4 points out of 6 last Saturday morning. The team will get better with games under their belts.
That's their decision - they must see something in him to bring him straight into the first team squad. Tyler Smith not being in the squad is an odd one though - unless he's on his way out
We'd have all been happy with 4pts after 2 games. Squads not yet complete and on top of that down on numbers due to Injuries, plus those we do have aren't all fully match fit. Top half of the table when the window shuts avd I'd take that as a great start to the season
Yep. I don’t even think he’s a striker either so putting him up front when trying to grind out a result was an odd one. Shota did him no favours by bringing him on in that game. Bringing Wilks on would’ve been better.
Shota is pushing Covil on in the absence of anyone else and the fact that T Smith isn't up to it. It's too much for Covil right now.
We subbed on Covil, Cannon and Williams. Covil a young kid who couldn't get a game at FGR last year and looked lost, whilst the other 2 didn't make the match day squad more often than not. We've got a decent XI, but theres nothing on the bench that can change the game. I know theres a few injuries, but we still lack depth
I really struggle with that type of passive management, really seemed inevitable that Preston would score but we ground it out for a good point I suppose. I noticed that after PNE should have scored there was a break in play and players where getting a drink, felt strange to me that Shota had no instructions for anybody. It felt a little bit like pre-season again in terms of how we struggled to impose any type of attacking intent. Hopefully with a few more signings things look a bit better as our lack of depth was evident in the subs we made.
I wasn't able to watch the game today but the stark reality is that it took a penalty and a deflection for the goals last week, and we've not scored again today. Goals are not going to come thick and fast.
Exactly - some people seem to have short memories. A lot of us said on the transfer thread that the new players would take time to gel and we'd have to be patient. Also, like most Championship teams our squad isn't complete yet and we know the club are actively seeking reinforcements before the end of August. 4 points from 2 games -we're already a point ahead of where we were last season - what's not to like?
Think Smith's pace and workrate might have been useful alongside one of the big guys today but think he's injured.
no matter how many signings we make we have a manager who is not up to managing at this level. No way will City get a top 6 finish under Shota . It’s all down to how long it takes Acun to admit this & get a proven Championship manager in
Brady ran the show there. Would love us to have a wing back who’s effectively a central midfielder in terms of play style
Well, 4 points is as many as some of the experts on here were predicting we would have after 6 games.
