Had a feeling we were going to lose today. However 2 goals at home we should win, we have to tighten up at the back.

    Same as last season
Shipping goals for fun, can’t see games out, poor home form (so far) etc
Nige is going to be on borrowed time if he can’t sort this out and very quickly
For the people who were saying we’d be top six or better, nothing could be further from the truth so far
Yes it’s early days but it’s not looking good

For what it's worth I think we are in trouble as yet again we lose at home due to mistakes and poor football. I'm starting to get tired of the same old script and watching exactly the same apathy from a squad that can't punch their way out of a wet paper bag on any level. Sure it's early in the new season but is there any hope with this lot underperforming consistently and giving away all the points from a winning position making the whole scenario looking like a sick joke again. Being brutally honest I have not seen any progress under Nigel Pearson and I question his seriousness in improving the whole set-up at Bristol City as here we are after just 2 games, where we gave up the points late in the game, sitting level at the bottom of the table with Huddersfield. I honestly think that NP, despite all the excuses about financial problems and the FFP, has shown clearly enough that he is really incapable of getting anything better out of the players he has under his direction. In the next few weeks we could possibly lose some players that are considered to be potential assets for us disappearing to other clubs to further their careers. On the basis of what we have shown in the first 2 games could you blame them for wanting to be elsewhere? The squad is starting to look thin on the ground and goodness only knows what will happen later in the campaign when injuries and suspensions start kicking in to spoil the mix. The survey that made us contenders for relegation clearly knew what they were saying as here we are propping up the table with very little on display to convince me that we will get better.

The only positive for me was the fact that Lee was not with Sunderland.

It’s early days yet, we have to sort the Defense out though, borrowed time?, unless we get someone better lined up I’d prefer we stick with him. Understand your frustration though.

Frustration doesn't even come close to what a lot of supporters will be feeling tonight.

Many of those 24000 fans who went today will be reminded of the reason why they dont normally go.

It's so sad to see our biggest crowd for years having to witness that garbage and I wonder how many were saying on the way home that enough is enough? We should be rewarding their loyalty with considerably better stuff than what was on offer and they must be tired of waiting for the promised commitment to improvement to arrive in the next match, because we just aren't capable of that with this squad under the current leadership, and that's the saddest part of it all.

I’m not looking for Nige to be sacked but we already need a good result or more after a very disappointing start
We can say we were robbed at Hull but there’s only so long you can make excuses
I’d even suggest our next 6-8 games are pivotal as to whether we can even compete at this level this season
I didn’t expect us to get anything at Hull
I did expect 3 points today

The only way we will have a chance of 3 points is if we score 4 ourselves.
So far this season has been an extension of the last. The pattern is the same and horribly predictable.

Ok first off, ridiculous play by us gifting them a goal after 4 mins, we recovered well though and first half we were the better team.

second half so many problems and it’s Same old same old, none existent midfield puts so much pressure on our already weak minded defence and that’s where their two second half goals come from as they absolutely battered us down their left.

Something has to change and quick, it’s been like this for three years now and I don’t know about anyone else but I believe the atmosphere is very toxic at times the last 3 years and will only get worse if this continues.

Just think - a few years ago we were angry and wanting change because we only just missed out on the playoffs.
How times have changed - ‘progress’ I suppose……
I still do t think we’ll go down (yet) - it’s only been 2 games - but we don’t seem to be evolving.

Naismith as good as scored their first.
Vyner ffs for their 2nd - who said he has a mental problem ?
    He's just fu***ng useless.

Overall Sunderland thoroughly deserved their win.
As for us we are devoid of shape and a game plan.
Clueless I'm afraid and eey worrying.

Once Williams was booked it was going to be difficult in midfield. His aggression would have dropped a notch or 2 as he was also warned the dying minutes of the first half.
We missed Semenyo to hold the ball up front so it was like seasons gone pinged straight back.
Shame that Vyner made that mistake as he is also on 2 assist so far this season.

If Vyner is assisting goals but crap in defence then play him further forward - or is that too simple?

Tried that before in Nige first season. It’s his concentration that is the issue and should be coached out of him.
IMO once Kalas fit, play Naismith in front of Klose Atkinson and Kalas.

If you think Vyner is the only issue at that back, then I give up.... Barely a mention of the horrible defending from Naismith for their first goal, a minute after the same thing happened to him slightly further forward. Yes Vyner was out of position for their second, but he is not the only problem, yet gets all the blame,

So, after 18 months in charge and about a ten defenders bought, and yet still we are shipping in 2 goals or more per game! Let's not kid ourselves here, we are in big trouble this season, these are not 2 top teams we have shipped in 5 goals against, it's a team strongly tipped to be relegated, and a newly promoted side, there are a LOT better than both of them still to come. I have to say I'm worried about our status as a Championship club.

What concerns me the most is that NP seems to favour the 3-5-2, but doesn't have the players for it. HNM and Williams are just to slow in gettimg the ball out wide, so the WBs get caught between attack and defence, so we are caught with a 3-5-2 that is ineffective going forward and defending. The press is all wrong, Weimann pressing on his own is laughable, today Sunderland had 3 pressing all game, and very effectively. They wanted it more, they were faster, stronger and more dominant all over the park in the second half

I thought Simms was a class forward, he was giving the defence a torrid time. Big strong and powerful play. Proves there are players to be loaned if we want them.
Vyner may have got done, but he came across to cover the other two being pulled out of position.
Naismith gifted them the first, got bailed out by Vyner twice in the first half. But who cares it’s all Vyner fault.
On another note, he may have scored. But Martin is not the answer IMO (I really hope this bites me on the arse)
