We have to build on last season so between 10th and 16th. So just to say a number i will go right down the middle and say 13th.
Jack Harrison, Jack Harrison and finally Jack Harrison. Obviously Harrison can't win Young Player of the Season, so I will go for Gelhardt
Think Bamford will be top goal scorer (by some distance). Think Aaronson will be player of season, though Kristensen (as likely fans favourite) might push him close. Harrison will be top of assists, if he moves on, then I’ll select Aaronson again Interested to see what Sinisterra brings to the party, got big hopes for him. I feel defensively it’s gonna be a real difficult season, so for me it’s a 14th place finish.
Top scorer...Bamford if he stays fit Assists...Aaronson Player Of Season...Aaronson ones to burst on the Schene Mr Perkins and Mr Gray
So the news today is that the chuckle brothers on talksport gobby agbonlahor and Jamie o’haha have us as relegation certainties. Richard keys apparently liked marsch when he joined (though my recollection is he was recommending we take big Sam). His ITK Info though is that all is not well behind the scenes at Elland road… so he thinks we’re down too. That’s good enough for me to think we’ll be safe. I’m going 14th.
Interesting that we're 9/4 for the drop, which on bookies odds would see us in 17th. But favourites at 5/4 to beat Wolves on Saturday. Seems they're not really sure, just like most of us on here.
How good would it be to see Everton and Villa both go down. The only downside would be fat Frank would have been sacked before then
Happy to just take Fwank being sacked. Couldn't care less who gets relegated as long as it's not us. Ok that's bollocks...Villa please and not us
Quick question for all and we can bump this nearer the time After 16 games and we prepare for the break due to the World Cup what are your expectations for points tally? How many points would see the board continue faith with Jesse I would say 26 points would be good, I'd obviously like more, I think if we have 26 on the board he'll be safe, under 22 and he could be gone
Just to clarify Rich that's 16 matches in case anyone was wondering. Realistic expectations should be around the 1.3 ppg in my opinion which equates to 50ish points for the season. So...21 points would be very good. However if we're going to finish 17th as both you and I have forecast then it's likely to be much lower. In those 16 games we play; Chelsea (h) Scum (a) Arsenal (h) Liverpool (a) Spurs (a) That's potentially zero points from those 5 games. So I'd say we'll have around 18/19 points and that would be about par.
So based on points earned by clubs last season, after 16 games Arsenal were 7th on 26 points, that's what you are comfortable with, but expect more, whilst Leicester, who were 8th, only had 22 points. Brighton who ended up finishing 9th with 51 points, only had 20 points after 16 games last season, and Crystal Palace, only had 19 points at the same stage, but finished a comfortable 12th on 48 points. Given that most of us have not exactly predicted that we going to set the world on fire this season, but hope for something just a little bit better than last season, if we are on 20 points after 16 games, then we are exceeding my expectations. If we are not in the bottom 4, we are exceeding my expectations As for whether the board continues to keep faith with the manager, surely it would depend also upon our league position as well as our points total. Would you sack JM if we were bottom of the league with 26 points (yes I know very unlikely that amount of points would place you there), compared to 12th in the league on 19 points (which is where Crystal Palace were at this stage last season)
Noticed we were big odds bottom at Christmas which I suppose reflects playing all the promoted sides at home in those first 16
