About time. It had completely lost any meaning, was changing nothing and only became a point to further divide people as they argue about whether it should be done.
Good, but maybe it's the hypocrisy of doing it this season and then swanning off to Qatar that has something to do with it.
Didn't want to hijack Saintmagic's Saints predictions thread. But any thoughts on these wider questions... please log in to view this image
I've gone with... Premier League winner: Liverpool Relegated teams: Leeds, Fulham, Bournemouth Surprise package: Saints (I think we will surprise our own fans... I struggle for surprises beyond that. A negative one? Wolves in the basement battle) First manager to go: Brendan Rodgers Top scorer: Harry Kane Most red cards: Jefferson Lerma Player of the Season: Harry Kane Notable mad ****: Protestor on the roof of a stadium
Most reds is interesting. It can’t be that common for players to get more than one in a season. Most yellows is a more intriguing question surprise package usually refers to a team doing better than expected but I guess one doing worse than expected works as well. Just not what people default to. Brendan seems to be getting his excuses in early even though they surely won’t have the same injury problems
Interesting game to start the new season. Arsenal were comfortably beaten away at Palace last season but they have strengthened a lot. Arteta has to deliver CL football for them this season with the squad he has now.
Interestingly, for the first time in years I look at that Arsenal side and I don't see an obvious weak link.
Yeah, I think they've recruited really well. Interested to see Doucoure for Palace as well - meant to be a bit special.
Arteta's got to deliver this season - no excuses with the likes of Saka, White, Odegaard a year more experienced and Jesus and Zinchenko in the side. Saliba's a bit of an unknown but he was great last season for Marseille.
How many of that palace starting line up do people would definitely get in our starting line up / a combined eleven I ask because everyone has them down to impress / be comfortably safe. But I count 4 out of 11. Which goes to show how far certain positions go - in this case the attacking ones and central defence My picks where : Guehi, Doucoure, Zaha and Olise. In terms of “definitely”. And going on what I have heard about Doucoure only (and Bazunu to be fair). Anderson is borderline and I wouldn’t take their full backs So either we aren’t as bad as people are pretending or those potential X factor attacking midfielders really have an outsized impact. All opinions of course. And I’m not sure how many players they are missing if any
Without using the word(s) "SaintsPlayer", where are people planning on watching matches online? All my regular sources stopped showing Prem matches towards the end of last season.
