    The SMC think even standing up in what describe as the high, steeply banked Upper West is dangerous to life and limb.
    As I said in an earlier post maybe Acun should take them all to a Fenerbahce game to see what an atmosphere is like.

    Giving it large wouldn’t be acceptable in a pub or on the street so why is it normal and acceptable at a football match?

    Not sure what more you expect from the SMC, their hands are quite tied by the local plods. Reading between the lines, I thought this was the most interesting section;

    To be very clear, we celebrate the passion of Hull City fans, and the general excitement and atmosphere last Saturday was exactly what the club wanted to create by the relocation of home fans to the North Stand. The description of anti-social behaviour relates to a small number of specific offences, with investigations and attempts to identify those responsible ongoing.

    It’s my fault really
    I wasn’t there on Saturday to dispense clips round the ear.
    Couldn’t rely on Askew to do it for me as he was on the concourse with a stopwatch…

    It’ll happen in those places too. The item throwing, the attempts to reach the other fans, etc.

    The likelihood of it happening last Saturday could have been reduced had the fans been placed - with the space that was available - further apart. That’s the point I’m making. More could have been done initially. Not excusing that’s why it happened. It’s still wrong that things were thrown.

    Not sure the word “football” needs to be in that statement. It happens in other sports too.

    But you’re right - it’s not acceptable.

    Where they were when the police and stewards did such a good job of controlling things?,Naturally there were loads of arrests and banning orders of City fans who had seats thrown at them but none of the Millwall fans ripping up of seats.

    Is that suggestion to move City fans into the East Stand a joke or have you been in hibernation for a long time?

    So, if we gain promotion again what do we do, reduce capacity for home fans to have an empty section either side of the away fans? Reading, a similarly aged stadium loses 100 seats to segregation and can alter things according to how many away fans are there. Norwich, an old stadium can have 4,000 away fans in for Cup matches, the maximum for league matches down to 1,000 and in all instances only one aisleway for separation. For various reasons our stadium was badly designed. And it would help if all concerned acted as if we were in a city and not like some small town overwhelmed by the visit of a big club who have landed a big club in the Cup and can’t cope with all the fans.

    Problem is their idea of what constitutes exuberance is not necessarily the same as a lot of others.

    Yes, you can guess that from someone who has been a forum member for a year and posted 15/times. I should have realised.

    I’m not sure what the answer is in that scenario if more fans attend.

    Whilst the space is available currently, away fans should be shifted over a block.

    If the stadium had been designed properly in the first place there would not be these problems Other stadiums of the same age don’t have the same problems.
