Aye he was, went to Lord Lawson school.
He moved to Washington early 80's (81, maybe 82), lived in Pentland Close in Lambton...strangely enough, he lived about 4 doors away from Heather Mills, the lass who married Paul McCartney.

Yet the one VAR decision which was completely ignored was Wycombe fouling Robertsfor a penalty

Hopefully Bristol City fans won't claim this is our "cup final" because of what happened in 77, as Coventry fans seemed to think. Hope we win convincingly, but good luck for the rest of the season.

seem to remember it was checked as i still fail to grasp how it was never a 'real time' penalty let alone dismissed by VAR...the defender basically threw himself into roberts.

If they checked it they didn’t advise the fans in the ground at all. It was as blatant as they come I agree. But then again, Huddersfield had 2 turned down which were stonewall in their play off. It was as if the referees thought “it’s not that important as these teams don’t really matter”

might have been one of those that was not considered a 'clear and obvious error' so never got the crowd message...there again, i despise VAR so will take any chance to have a pop at it.

The 2 Huddersfield ones were clear as day though. As clear as it gets. Cost them millions in promotion costs potentially. Ours was as clear a penalty as it gets too. I do believe that the VAR team didn’t want to interfere.

exactly the reason why i despise VAR...seems they still 'pick and choose' which incidents are worthy of a review, then how far back during the play they look to find a potential foul in the build up, depending who the award will go to, of course.

I was at Coventry that night 2-0 down we came back to 2-2 and later your game finished with Everton and the score came up -then both sides stopped playing.

I wasn't alive then but I think it's a bit silly people holding grudges still. It was only 5 minutes you and Coventry messed about and if we had done our job it wouldn't have mattered what you done.

Indeed, and although it was a historic low point for us at the time, we've inflicted worse on ourselves since, so it shouldn't be that big a deal anymore. I still think Jimmy Hill was a cheating c*nt though.
