Tuxedo Royale followed on from the Tuxedo Princess. As Snaggey says the original was sent off to Glasgow and the Royale was moved to Middlesbrough, I think. Not sure if either city are still using them as boozing establishments.
Goes back to Tamla nights mid-week in the New Cellar, South Shields, it was the first venue that I heard this one. They had a DJ who specialised in Motown, he was way ahead of his time and gained an early cult following among the Brazen Hussies.
Michael Quadrini the owner of the boats and the night club, joined our table on the opening night of The Tuxedo Junction, it was a night to remember, I mixed in some flash company those days.
