    My main objection is having to use Google Pay. I have absolutely no intention of having that on my phone. I don't do transactions on my phone deliberately. It just so happens that I'm also a depressive (mild, thankfully), and my anxiety levels are coming up on the rails to prove it's the real reason (without me realising).

    I was told today (by the security guard outside the office) that over 200 people had already turned up at the ticket office, as phone calls & emails were DELIBERATELY being ignored. Apparently it's due to the backlash they're suffering as a result on forcing this on all supporters without due consultation or consideration. I could probably put my house on these 200+ people are either technophobes, simply old, or most likely, mental illness sufferers who cannot deal with change. The most vulnerable people, in other words. Ignored. Not a word from the club either, & that puts the cherry on the cake for me. Totally amateurish in approach, application, communications, & customer service. Shocking behaviour from the club, tbh. Lots of complaints & the solution is to stop listening to them? Sounds like the tories.

    As for this giving tickets to another - I've been doing this for years, but my friends & family don't have lay out cash to be a member. They'd need to lay out for a membership with the 'new' system. Progress? Nope, squeezing every last penny out of us.

    Think that's bad? Try phoning it. Only think missing is the receiver slamming down. Basturds!

    You don’t need google or Apple Pay WJ (I don’t) just download the tickets to wallet on iPhone that’s all.

    I tried the wallet thing once for a flight. Nearly got refused as it hadn't worked right! Fortunately (as always), I had a paper copy. We don't have this option here.

    Anyway, you're missing the point! Shutting down ticket sales for a week is a nonsense in itself, but choosing the week-long run-up to a new system live-date has been practiced by precisely no-one that ever got a good outcome.

    Not only that, but when you do close down, you let people know. Customer Service 101!! They didn't, & haven't yet. Does this mean that there is a serious bug that could cause whole system collapse? Wouldn't surprise me, but not that we'll ever find out. Well, not until Saturday, anyway. I can picture them trying to get us in through the turnstiles after the final whistle!

    Apologies WJ as I have somewhat missed the point.

    To clarify;

    You do have a smartphone with a wallet facility but you're reluctant/refusing to download the ticket and use it as the new system requires. Now I accept there may be problems and it's not a nice feeling being without back up but it's the same for everyone with an iphone or android phone.

    From my point of view I'll have proof of my ST purchase with me and should I encounter problems I'll deal with them as they happen. It's not that I don't share your concern (I'm continually checking that my ST is in the wallet) but then covid vaccination passes and other things have been in there for ages and as yet haven't dissappeared until deleted by myself. That brings me some reassurance that all will be well.

    However it's a fact that there are other supporters who are not as lucky as you or I and simply cannot use the new system for a variety of reasons. The club are causing those supporters totally unnecessary stress and anxiety by simply not offering them an alternative weeks ago and that's a disgrace.

    Hopefully you can find a way that makes you feel comfortable before Saturday <ok>

    I was talking to one of our visually impaired fans on Sunday. He said he's been told that his carer has to have his ticket to go into the ground but he wants to be able to do this himself. He feels that it is impacting on his independence which is already vulnerable due to his visual impairment and that the club are not doing anything about it. I said I would pass this on to one of the supporter's board members for him.
