Well this threads going to last long.....

 

It’s all well and good him saying that but footballers are still regularly being racially abused 2 years down the line. When do they try and put a genuine effort into punishing people who do it?

 

I find that shouting “**** off you ****” at people being racist and bigoted works a treat. Been my “taking the knee” equivalent for 30 years now.

 

You will be getting a banning order upsetting the kiddies with language like that.

 

Some of them appear to be grown ups. But yes you’re right, acting like kiddies.

 

No young kids or women in the vicinity when this vile language is spewing out?

 

When are the authorities going to clamp down on golfers! That's what I want to know.

Also, if footballers wanted to make a collective stance against racism and other forms of discrimination, they’d all boycott Qatar. Empty gestures didn’t help bring down apartheid in South Africa, boycotts did.

 

Yet, despite the evidence of it working, we are now told we shouldn’t mix politics and sport. Yes we should.

 

Behaviour which doesn’t cause a raised eyebrow elsewhere causes meltdowns in Hull.

I know Geoffrey had a good 7 matches against them but I'm not sure he gets all the credit for bringing down apartheid....

 

It was never going to be a permanent thing was it ?
After a few times it just becomes a routine and loses any real meaning

 

The people who it was for didn't even all agree with it which says it all really. Well intentioned, but ultimately ineffective. We haven't done it for sometime if I'm correct?
