Haha good point about “the stripes are back” to be honest, my favourite kits are when we move away from stripes. I love this new one, and absolutely adore the sash. Red/white stripes is over done and too many teams have the same kit.
The Away kit is so OMG that it would be just our luck that we win the FA Cup as the 'away' team in that kit and that will be all that is remembered for the next 40 years #Here'sHoping
Almost all of us will want to buy a Saints shirt which we will either be buried or cremated in, when we eventually shuffle off this mortal coil. This isn’t one of them.
Nah. We'll win the FA Cup in our third kit, which will be -- for reasons no one will ever adequately explain -- just a poorly re-sized, low-resolution .jpeg of two muskrats engaged in amorous activities.
Yeah we commented on a 'Maori' feel but then its also got that classic japanese wave style as well. Its interesting and not boring so its a thumbs up from me.
Yup. Likewise. And you’re quite right. We were pretty dominant that day, and particularly first half.
The thing that no one ever really picked up on, was the fact that at home at the Dell where the stands were notoriously close to the pitch, the terraces were full of fans wearing red and white shirts. If any team found it hard to see their own players, it certainly wasn’t Man Utd, it was of course Saints. I got a great picture of Monkou (I think) who scored and jumped up in front of the Saints fans and you couldn’t see his shirt as it blended in with the fans red and white shirts. As much as the grey colour was crap, the design on the Man Utd kit was one of the worst in a long time…. Think Fergie just didn’t fancy it much…!! Oh…. And Saints were by far the better team too…. Not that we should let the truth cloud a great Man Utd injustice story….!!
Thrashing Man Utd that day and then having Fergie complain about their kit was the icing on the cake. Too difficult to admit that his team had been humiliated. Oddly, I was thinking that Saint's new second kit had been design for the same reason as the old Man Utd grey kit in that it was design to be sold to match when wearing jeans. I have not bought a Saints kit for years as it seems pointless spending £60 in order to squeeze in to something that resembles an ill fitting sausage skin. There is an age after which it starts looking wrong when you wear a football jersey. The pattern of the away shirt is supposed to replicate Southamtpon's status as a port however it would be more representative if the shirt had a shopping trolley floating in the middle of it. I will pass on this one.
