£5m bid for greaves rejected as we know.... I think anything north of £8m might test us. From his POV I really don't see why he would want to move sideways
Following up on my post, from the list, Zajc is less likely to leave though, he had a great season last year but only reason that he is there is that new coach Jorge Jesus keeps buying Portuguese speaking players and tends to prioritise on them, I would still think that if stays in squad, before mid season he will get his place back, may be earlier after Dinamo Kiev failure.
In your opinion. I remember when we sold KLP plenty on here were saying it was ok as Greaves was a better player. To suggest we'd sell him for anything south of 12-15m is madness. Didn't you accuse me of making a mountain out of a molehill when I suggested the club seemed uncertain about keeping him and now here you are suggesting we might sell him for around 8m?
We just picked up a really, really good prospect for relative peanuts. This guy is being touted as a future French international by Spurs, their fans can't believe he's gone.
We have to keep players like Greaves IMHO. Not least because he’s a damned fine footballer, but having Hull lads in the team mixed in with all our imported talent is really important. I love the fact we potentially have Greaves, Fleming and Coyle in our starting 11 (Despite those shouting ’Coyle isn’t good enough’ - He did a great job on Saturday). The manager clearly recognised this by making two Hull lads Captain and Vice Captain.
First and foremost because defenders go for less money then attacking players. I'm not suggesting anything at all, me saying anything north of £8m is my own personal opinion and absolutely nothing more or less If we can get KLP money for greaves then we would be daft not to accept it imo... But Im almost certain nobody will offer that kind of money this season. Most importantly though he doesn't want to move.
I completely agree. I don't want to see him sold nor from what Ive been told does he want to leave. The £8m figure is just my personal opinion of where I think it will start to get harder to say no to from the club's POV
Pretty sure he'll stay. Wouldn't be the first time a contract gets nailed down once the window shuts. Any interest shown by other clubs tends to get used in negotiations as a bargaining chip in talks, that's all.
How do Turkish teams always seem to end up with way more foreign players than they’re allowed in their squad? It seems to have been the case whenever we’ve been linked to a player from a Turkish club over the years that they’ve been over their foreign players quota and need to offload. And 22 when the limit is 14? With Allahyar having already left? That’s 50% over the limit. Do you just sign these players and let them play reserve football all year?
That is quite a lot of money though, especially for a Championship centre half. Hopefully he signs a new deal, but if not, £10m-£12m is a decent amount of cash considering he cost us nothing.
I'm well aware it's your opinion it was my first sentence. I'm just a bit frustrated that mere weeks after having a go at me for suggesting he might leave you're suggesting there's a chance too. I think he'll stay at least this season and if we sell it'll be far more than 8m. Bowen is being linked to arsenal for the same price Maguire went to United for, so no I don't think you can say a good CB goes for half the price of an attacker.
No...why would he be coming in as first choice? If he works his way to first choice then so be it. But he's coming in so that we have 3 senior keepers and then Robson can go out on loan hopefully
So when Cartwright is back we're selling Ingram? My point is yes he's a good talent but he's not going to play.
He'll be in the first team, like Ingram and Baxter he'll have to convince the staff he can cut it. But a three year deal with an option suggests a lot of potential.
