Maddison saga continues, slowly ramping up the pressure to sell on Rodgers. how else will the beers on the chairman’s birthday be paid for? Will be a Yoof player ready to step up.
“I think England have hosted an incredible tournament and we've changed the game in this country - and hopefully across Europe and across the world." Empire DNA still runs strong in some folk on these shores The Germans have won it 8 times…the English win it once and they think they changed the world or will do you can see why peeps thinks the English are tossers
Was probably unnecessary to mention Europe and the World, the this country bit would have sufficed. What this has done, at least should have, is given women's football a big kick start, and it might be reflected in their crowd's for the league etc. That's what's needed, match goers at their games regularly. Needs its own section on the sports pages too. It would get lost if lumped in with men in a football section. Plus there would remain all the brainless comparisons between the two. And then, those that are interested get their own section to read and those that aren't interested don't need to sift through it all. Everyone happy surely.
My only problem is the **** talking, like I mentioned With women everything seems to turn into this women empowering bullshit exercise…I try to keep it at what it is. Women playing football…like they been playing Tennis and have done for decades. cant help puking up a little bit in my mouth when I read some things
Well yeah, agree with that. The BBC have been biggest culprits in the utter cringe fest, as usual. Now they've got their own game though, perhaps we won't have the screeching women pundits bolted on to every men's match now? Although I ****ing doubt it, they'll go the other way and it'll be all women 'presenting' the men's game. The thing about tennis, and golf etc., is womens tennis is described as exactly that, women's. Same with golf. Is it that much a deal to have that separation and identity for football as well?
Exactly Once again they are trying to dilute something in society that is A) very positively influential B) dominated by heterosexual men There’s a mass agenda that is out to get rid of these things in their purest form. Every other sport embraces the womens part of it in its totality in its own right. The women sportspeople have their own legacies. why has it become a national obsession to fuse the football and he achievements within the game of the two genders?
Tbh I've only seen this from the BBC. Its because the people running it all genuinely don't give a **** about woman's football, so they haven't got a clue on how to make it popular. So in their complete ignorance towards the game, they've decided that awkwardly tagging the game onto Mens football, that would be enough. If they gave a ****, they'd realise that only makes woman's football a sideshow freak. So yeah, its because a lot of the fanfare is fake.
Changes for the new Premier League season And here's a breakdown of what other changes we can expect at the weekend: The multi-ball system - which allows the game to resume with another ball when the match ball goes out of play - is to return, partly as an effort to speed up the game. In-game time last season averaged 55 minutes 07 seconds, regarded as 'unacceptable'. Concussion trials are to continue for another season. Teams are allowed to make an extra substitution in the event of a suspected concussion. The Premier League is understood to be supportive of the idea of temporary substitutions, though, and is lobbying for it. It believes club medical staff should be given an amount of time to make a call without the substitute being permanent. Premier League clubs have been advised not to stop games for a medical emergency in the stands unless absolutely necessary. Assistant referees have been instructed to only delay raising their flag for an obvious offside when there is an immediate chance of a goal and very obvious attacking phase and tight onside/offside calls. Clubs will be allowed to play friendlies while the World Cup takes place in November and December.
Premier League captains in talks over whether to continue taking a knee This weekend's Premier League games could look a little different as Premier League captains are in talks over the future of the pre-match anti-racism gesture of taking a knee. The captains have already held one meeting on the subject without reaching a resolution, with another set to take place when they have consulted with their team-mates. Players have been taking a knee before kick-off since the league restarted in June 2020 following the initial shutdown due to the Covid pandemic, but many players now feel the gesture has lost its impact in terms of pushing the anti-racism message. The Premier League has pledged to follow the players' lead on the issue, with an announcement likely before Crystal Palace's encounter with Arsenal at Selhurst Park on Friday. well done on changing the world again guise
