Skyte Sports claim that Leicester are only willing to sell one of James Maddison or Wesley Fofana this summer as they try to balance the books due to their lack of European football Considering that Chelsea are after Fofana, and Leicester are expecting a Maguire-like offer to balance their particularly shaky-looking books, my main response to this is...are we sure we don't want Tielemans, who they don't seem too fussed about losing?
IIRC Fofana has the longest time left on his contract of any Leicester player so wanting an extortionate fee makes sense. But they are playing a dangerous game with a number of other players whose contracts expire in the next 2 years. I wouldn't be surprised if we are keeping an eye on Tielemans but will leave it until the last minute to submit a Levy Classic, knowing that the player wants out and that they are desperate to sell. We don't want to be drawn into a bidding war with Arsenal as I think he'd choose them over us as he'd get more football there. If Newcastle come back in with a silly bid for Maddison, that eases Leicester's financial issues and could make them more open to selling Tielemans for sensible money. But I can see it being a late, late game of chicken as only Levy loves best.
Ndombele being linked with Villarreal, with Pervis Estupinan possibly involved Okay, much as I want to see the back of him, I don't get this: I can see Lo Celso heading to Villarreal and slotting into the team and La Liga very well, but Ndombele? I can see Capoue decking him after half a dozen games of having to do the defensive work for the two of them
Good luck to him. I think he’ll turn out a very decent centre back but for one reason or another just never got the chance here.
All the best to him. Seems like a good guy but ability wise I’m not sure he’s good enough for where Spurs want to be.
Rodon's card was stamped when Conte said he was Dier's understudy - but when Dier was injured, Sanchez got the nod
As you say, a good guy and a much better player than we have seen at club level. His performances alongside Ben for Wales have been excellent. £20m is a bargain for anyone and although I see the logic, I'm still not sure that shifting him on is the right move. Hope he has a good season
Jose Manuel Garcia claims that Sevilla have an agreement with Sergio Reguillon, but the fee they're offering is well below what we expect This one is a walk in the park for Levy: Los Ladrones can re-sign him for £25m this summer, so that is the minimum bid that we will accept
Diego Pico and Gaston Edul both claim that Villarreal have offered to take Lo Celso on a season-long loan with a mandatory €15m/£12.6m fee next summer
They appear to be thoroughly uninterested. If he’s not in plans then just shift him, his value isn’t going to go up from not playing.
I’d pick Sanchez over Rodon too, albeit I’d not be bothered if Spurs sold Sanchez too. The whole level of central defender needs to be more Romero than Rodon if Spurs are to be successful.
Take it and run. Less than what I thought we might be able to get but getting him and Ndombele out is all that matters. The only hope is Winks fetches around £20m, that's gonna be instant profit that can then partially cover the losses we'll make on dumb and dumber.
Realistically, I'd have picked Rodon at CCB when Dier was injured because Rodon has the passing ability, while Sanchez seems a better fit covering at RCB since he's got the pace and physicality that role requires The fact that Rodon's role ultimately ended up being giving Ben Davies some much-needed rest late in games we were controlling realistically says that Conte had probably decided he was leaving by around March/April
Given Lo Celso is contracted until 2025, if we add last season's and this coming season's loan fee to the €15m that would ultimately mean Villarreal paid something like €22.5m for Lo Celso over the course of two seasons, plus the wage contributions, so that works out pretty well Better than him chartering that flight for him and Cuti to play in the World Cup qualifier against Brazil, that's for sure...
Zaniolo Watch The Standard (not Dan KP) claim that he wants to join us, while Graeme Bailey at 90mins (cue sound of a brick being thrown into a pond) claims that Conte is planning to use him as a RWB Paywall Watch The Standard (also not Dan KP) claim we're also looking to sign an Ajax CB...but I have no idea which one, as that part of the article was cut off by the Standard website demanding I pay Wolves' Max Kilman has also been linked
