No doubt now that we need a top class striker and a similar midfielder. The chances being created need to be put away. And to rely on Ronaldo like last season is simply bonkers. The looking into alternatives to DeJong is most welcome. At the close of the window we should have brought the missing key pieces in the jigsaw.

1 - 1 in our final pre season game, CR played the first half and tried to get involved, Chong played and was absolute crap, that performance might have sealed his future with the club - both careless and selfish in possession and is nowhere near good enough to compete against Sancho. The absolute star was Garnacho who will definitely be challenging Rashford foe a berth on the left this season. New boy Martinez was faultless, so much so that you didn't notice him, no dramas, calm under pressure and excellent with the ball.

Once again we were vulnerable in defence, granted it was a second/third string, but Varane needs minutes and our playing out from the back was a real cause for concern.

On another curious note, EtH has swapped the Home/Away dugouts - the home dugout is now nearest the tunnel - odd, but he strikes me as a man who does things for a reason.

EDIT - Reports on social media that CR7 ****ed off home before the final whistle having been hooked at half-time

yes. This has overshadowed the whole match. Once in a while, can’t the guy not make everything about himself ?

He wasn't the only player to leave after half time and the club have no problem with it.

Sorry - but who ****s off halfway through the game, especially given his profile and the issues that he has created. Just shows a complete and utter disrespect for the club and the youngsters who had to sit through 45 mins while he did **** all while earning more in a week than they will earn in a couple of years. Such a pile of ****

You would have to ask the club which other players ****ed off, i wasn't there.
What issues has he created just to be clear?
I remember when he did create an issue many years ago by saying he was being treated like a slave but have heard or seen nothing from him recently.

Diego my man?! What the hell are you on?

I can’t believe you’re still here trying to defend that twat! “The King Plays on Sunday”. But the twat left at half time!

He’s played no games all season but couldn’t wait to leave the stadium. Same petulant nonsense that he pulled when substituted last season.

    What a fkin disgrace!

Or maybe his family problem is still on going and when he was no longer required went home?
What are your feelings on the other players that left.

If some issue is troubling him to the point where he can't be away from home for a mere 45 minutes longer then he had no right playing in the first instance. You give 100% or stay at home and give 0% - which seems to be his preferred option, all the while picking up god knows how much per week for the privilege.
It sends out such a bad vibe to the young players who look up to him - they see him behave in this way and, such is the way these days, they think they can act like it too - all of which is seriously disruptive and disrespectful to the new manager who is trying to get his **** together. I've said it before, I'll say it again - I do not want to see CR in the club shirt again.

    DeJong latest:

Utd now prepared to take over the £17m debt owed to DJ by Barcelona. because of legal and contractual rules Utd cannot pay him directly but will use the wages and bonuses to give him that sum.

To say that I’m disappointed with Utd is an understatement. This is exactly what Barcelona has been manoeuvring to do and they got their way. Utd said that they will no longer be made a mug of. This proves exactly the opposite.

    That is hilarious!
Diego wasn’t exactly thinking as he wrote that response. A grown man can’t be away from home for an extra 45 minutes. What a ridiculous idea!

Wasted all that time only to do this now? Are we still going to say that we are not desperate? If any other club makes a bid for him and gets him, the club will be looking to save face because we don’t even seem to have a solid plan B.

    I can't, as i mentioned yesterday i wasn't there.
The club however who were there stated several players left the ground and they have no problem with this.

If they did it during a competitive match i would assume the reaction would be different.

What does matter how many players went home? This is a player that was supposedly fighting to be the captain of the club. He also has not started a single game this preseason. He should have stayed to fully support the other players. If you’re suggesting that “everyone does it” is an excuse, that is a bad place to start a discussion. Great way to lead by example.

And what did you expect the club to say? Cause further disruption by telling the world that they were unhappy that he left?

I don't know, you seem to be outraged because media is telling you to be outraged by something.

Just like you seemingly believe every single word the gossip column tells you, as if it's actually true.

    It rarely is.

The British media are utter scum. They are only interested in finding a way to **** stir at every opportunity, especially if it involves United in some way.
That's from the top down, the BBC do it and the utter ****ing pondlife of The Sun do it.

Up to you if you buy it, personally never have and never will.

    He started on Sunday.

I'm not using anything as an excuse, just wondering why you only piling on one.

Ronaldo is not captain material and never has been, i suspect ETH has stuck with Maguire because we have no natural leaders in the squad and he has at least done the job for a while.
I also suspect that he sees de Jong as captain material which is why he is chasing him so hard but i could be well out with that.

Chief, take our transfer strategy, did I need the media to tell me in mid June that we were missing the mark? No, I didn’t! I’m still baffled that we have made a single signing in the midfield that was weak before we even lost players in post season.

Did I need the media to disdain the whole “king is playing” post from Ronaldo prior to this match only for him to leave halfway through? So much for the king that left the battle halfway through.

I don’t need media to tell me that CR is all about self before the team. Yes, he has the drive, but he is also hell bent on looking out for himself before the club. He is therefore evidently selfish on various counts. Let’s not blame the media for that. I’m doing so, you’re dismissing individual’s negative sentiment on the matter because you are biased against anything anti-CR’s egomaniac behaviour.

I have no idea why you and Diego continue to make excuses for him at this point. It’s the same way others made excuses for Ole when clearly evidence suggested it was unwarranted to keep covering the cracks.

Because the one that you’re referring has been a negative distraction throughout the close season. You even suggested that maybe his family issues are still ongoing. You don’t think that’s making an exercise?
