    After the disaster of last season Watford place their trust in Rob Edwards to return the club to the EPL. Forest Green Rovers were not happy to see their man leave after guiding them to promotion. Still searching for their first home win of 2022, could he raise the spirits of everyone by beating a Sheffield side that reached the playoffs, but failed to progress as they lost on penalties to Nottingham Forest?
    Watford have only lost once on an opening day of the season in the last 15 years, while Sheffield have only won once in the last 8 years.

    Team News

    As far as we know, only Imran Louza is not available as he recovers from his knee problem.
    Sheffield have four players unlikely to take to the pitch, with two more doubtful.

    Our Referee

    Josh Smith will take charge of a Watford game for the first time on Monday after being chosen to officiate the Championship opener against Sheffield United.

    The Peterborough-born official has refereed EFL fixtures for the past three seasons and was appointed to the Select Group 2 List of Referees at the start of the 2020/21 campaign.

    After the Elton concert the ground staff have really been putting the hours in. It looks as though their efforts have been worthwhile.

    Wonder why we didn't get a penalty for Dennis being dragged/pushed in the box?

    Instead we get handbags from Sierralta and a defender.
