Levy's tactics aren't to lowball the club and expect the player to force the move, and never have been Barca, on the other hand...
It's worth looking into what the last issue of Private Eye had to say Fair warning: you will likely need a pen and piece of paper to keep track of the various companies, equity funds and offshore bank accounts issuing shares since the end of May...
Thanks! Not sure I understood much of it though. It's obviously very complex which doesn't suggest "straightforward" re who owns what, where the money really came from and how it's going to be financed going forward. You would have thought that if the PL were really interested in the ownership question they might have insisted upon a clearer structure, but then again they seem to believe that the Saudi state doesn't own Newcastle (or more likely don't care).
Bet all those Arsenal fans who were calling her a liar and a whore look like ****ing morons now. She was telling the truth (obviously). Arsenal still choosing to play this guy after all the **** he’s put this girl (and other girls) through is just mind blowing. Is he really going to play and we just have to act like nothing has happened?
The day that she released all of those texts on twitter was awful. I genuinely thought that she was going to kill herself. I'm sure it's just a loud minority, but even some of the supposedly nice comments were ****. People claiming to believe her, but adding that they couldn't afford to lose Partey this season. Utter lunatics.
Yeah, I saw that. People were also making memes and trivialising her ordeal. Others were trying to counter act what she was saying by saying “I stand with Partey. Innocent until proven guilty”. Obviously, Twitter is a cesspit and has a lot of incels/trolls but I can’t imagine how difficult it must have been to witness all this having just been told that her rapist was going to walk free on a technicality. It takes some incredible mental strength to endure all that and still come out fighting.
It'll be interesting to see what happens on Friday. I suspect that the Palace fans aren't going to go easy on him. How the commentators explain that remains to be seen.
Hadn’t realised you posted it on here too, BG. It’s definitely grim. For its worth though I don’t think there’s been a huge amount of genuine Arsenal fans overtly defending him. I will say though that a lot of abuse aimed at the woman and/ or those staunchly defending him are largely from African men, primarily from Ghana and Nigeria according to their Twitter bios - this was also very similar during the Greenwood stuff. Whilst you want to defend your heroes to the end, there’s comes a point where you need to take a step back and read the situation.
I went to the Sevilla game at The Emirates and Partey was (generally) being cheered every time he won the ball or made an interception or switched play with a pinpoint pass. It was unsettling. Either people in the crowd are unaware, don’t care or are just trying to ignore it and act like nothing has happened. In any case, it’s very hard for me to support the team when I know what’s gone on. Does footballing ability really supersede morality? Surely, the women at the club aren’t going to be ok with this?
