Any more precictions for this season's finishing position can you please post them on the Season Commences thread before Saturday. So far we have 12th as the highest (Infidel) and 17th the lowest (myself & Ristac) with everyone else somewhere inbetween. Don't do an elland and come on after xmas saying you always thought we'd be in the bottom 3 before a ball was kicked without nailing your colours to the mast now. Or does anyone think we can match or better the 9th place we had in our first season after promotion ?
Hey, I want it noted that I went early. I'm sticking by it too. It's usually fun to revisit at Christmas and again in May.
Does this mean all 3 are in the first team squad or is Summerville for example going out on loan as he will not get much game time unless Harrison is going, which means Sinisttera on the right and James left with wee Jimmy backing up?
You wonder what the plan is for Drameh. The new right back looks pretty good and Ayling will be fit soon and he will have trouble dislodging Kristiensen
Send Summerville out on loan if he isn't going to play. Same with Greenwood. Sign Dramah on a long term deal and send him out too. Let the youngsters go out and get games under their belt like Chelsea did with Mount and Gallagher. These young lads will either come back super strong for us or their value will have increased for profit.
Wholesale changes to the coaching staff, this guy really really liked by the 23s and allhave loads to say to him on social media. He wasnt happy that Elia Caprile was sold for a start. Kiko going is great news but looks like maybe a new experienced keeper could be coming in who is also going to assist in coaching the keepers?
Greenwood, Gelhardt and Summerville will all have big parts to play this season and won't be going anywhere. Jesse has obviously made it abundantly clear that they will get plenty of game time, albeit from the bench to begin with but that's all they can ask for. If they perform and are good enough they'll force their way into the starting eleven and stay there. Totally different feel amongst the youngsters now Jesse is in charge. With Drameh it's a little too soon to say and we'll know more by the end of August but we are light on full backs until Ayling and Dallas return.
Carlos Corberan takes over at Olympiacos and gets Champions League football. News in France is that Orta has made an offer for Kalimuendo, so lets hope thats true
Lots of good things said by many people about Charlie Cresswell following his match winning performance on Saturday. One thing that was a little lost in all the reporting was that according to manager Gary Rowett he'd have likely started on the bench without a midweek injury to one of his more senior centre backs. Rowett said to Cresswell on Tuesday " look I've been incredibly impressed with you but you might have to be a bit patient with all the centre halves we've got ". Shaun Hutchinson then pulled out of training at the end of the week and so Cresswell went straight into the team. Lots said about the value in young Charlie going out on the loan but the picture would have looked entirely different had he been bench warming down in South London last weekend.
I just read that that the EPL have asked the clubs captains to decide, So the EPL install this measure then ask the club captains to decide to continue or not after consulting with their teammates. The players should not have to decide this, they are footballers not politicians. Just an easy way out for the EFL. A bit like coming down hard on flares, erm the scousers? Never their fault.
Could the Leicester model be in trouble? Manager says we have to balance the books so no new players. Kasper Schmeichael (skipper) signs for Nice, Newcastle chasing Mount, Barnes wanted elsewhere, Fofana wanted by Chelsea……. Oh not forgetting Tielemens running his contract down and they have had no offers for him yet even from Arsenal
