To be fair he did get a ladder in his sock and even took the time out to show the referee and pointed to the player who did it.

Just watched the Highlights on the City channel. None of Bristol City's players told Tetteh to get up, tried to help him up or shouted at him for diving and rolling around as if he'd been poleaxed. Maybe they knew the defender had caught him on the ankle.

well i think what he did was embarrasing and naff. im not proud. he dived so as to get the penalty. all players do it. not many stay on their feet to take the shot. he could have had a shot. but he went down as if he'd been shot by a sniper.

And you're criticising our player for being rightfully awarded a penalty. That seems a bit naff to me.

if you are happy watching a player simulate or cheat then im happy for you. i am not. even if he plays for the team i follow.
regardless of whether he was fouled or not. to go down like that makes me cringe.
now some may say he has to do that or the ref doesnt give the pen.
which goes to show just how messed up the game has become.

    i hate it.
and i wish more people would do the big sam laugh.

How is he cheating if he was deserved a penalty? I'm a bit confused at this. He tried to stay on his feet and couldn't because of the pain in his ankle, if anything he should be commended for trying to carry on rather than falling over immediately.

hahahaha!!! pain in his ankle. you honestly think that? well if thats the case i love the way it took a second and a half for the pain to register.

to me and the pundits on the itv show it looked dodgy.
and thats how i saw it.

I’m more inclined to believe this theory. Only Tetteh will know though.

I do agree with Chillo though. I hate people throwing themselves to the ground, even if contact is made. It feels ‘cry-wolf’ like, if that makes sense? Unfortunately it’s everywhere now and every team does it.

Also, I'm pretty sure we won zero penalties last season because we were "honest". I'm not for one second suggesting we should be diving all over the shop, but we definitely lacked a bit of gamesmanship last season and it was good to see it in play yesterday.

cheating because he is exaggerating or simulating.
ok it was a penalty. i agree on that. but to go over the way he did for me looked too theatrical.
and i hate that in the modern game regardless of who they play for.

I don't get why everything has to be so polarised. Can't we acknowledge that whilst it was a clear foul, he did go down late, obviously by choice, because he knew that's what you have to do to get a penalty. To say he went down because of the sheer agony of the challenge is kind of embarrassing. I'd like to think our players are a bit braver than that.

It's no big deal, every player does it. I wish it was stamped out but it's what football is these days. He felt the foul and knew that if he tried to stay up he wouldn't get the pen.
