Embleton and Pritchard seem to read each others game, I agree we fell deep when they went off

Could have tried Simms in that second half we had enough chances in that 2nd half to have sealed the win.

Fair result I thought. We started with great intensity that we couldn't keep up. Tin hat on here, but I'm not sure Dan Neil fits in this team right now. Playing those 3 attacking threats behind Stewart (which is absolutely the right choice), means that we need someone alongside Evans who is strong. energetic and disciplined. Someone good without the ball. Another signing in there is a must.

Pritchard and Clarke were fantastic today, we need to free them up to play like that as much as we can this season.

That left back on loan from City is a game changer.

Happy to get a draw, second half we seemed to fade.

Special mention to the Coventry idiots throwing bottles and all sorts after the scored. Absolute scum

Clarke did a lot of defending down that left-hand side -- barely noticed Cirkin as he tucked inside most of the time.

First game back in the Championship, can't really moan at a draw. We played some nice stuff at times, but we were lucky. The ****ing about at the back where they didn't capitalise with an open net. The effort onto the bar, inviting pressure etc. Good effort today though. Could Ross stay on his feet more?

Happy with that. Good first half from us and then Coventry much better second half, they are a good side tbf. Their goal was was coming since half time, could sense it a mile away. Great to be back at the SoL watching proper footy.
Ref was a reet blurt though.

That’ll do. We’re up and running. We have the players to live with this league.

Should have been way ahead before they scored get Clarke-harris in first, they were average but the subs made the difference but a point is a point. One up front is poor tactics.

How many teams play with more than 1 central striker these days?

If you put 2 up top, who are you dropping?

Disappointing not to win but Coventry deserved a point. We stood toe to toe with them in the first half and were the slightly better side. Their experience and quality showed in the second half and their subs were good. Brilliant strike for the equaliser.

I disagree that Evans needs improving upon. He needs more help in there, if anything.

A bit of a thankless task for Stewart as the game went on. Would an extra striker of swung the momentum towards us?

Were desperate for 2 decent center mids. Over ran all day in the middle and Alex Neil's subs were bemusing. Should have been O'Nien on for Neil and Roberts for either Pritchard or Embo on the hour mark. Also hard to understand why Simms wasn't brought on when we had a flurry of dead ball opportunitys right at the end. I'm going to call this result a Newcastle cos it feels like we got beat 1-1

    Liverpool, Man City..?

For me one up front is starting defensive.
It looks as if Simms is similar to Stewart you need a player who would complement him. Atm we do not have one!

    Perhaps 4 4 1 1...

I thought Evans was good today? He can hold his own in this league.

Liverpool and Man City play with 1 central striker and 2 wide forwards. I'd say that when we play Stewart, Clarke and Roberts, we're lined up the same.

Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea etc all do the same. As do a whole host of other good attacking teams at this level and the one above... and across Europe.
