A lot of bad luck in today's loss but unless we sort out our tendency to fall back when we are ahead boggles the mind and our weaknesses come to the fore. Anytime you face a side with Turkish blood in abundance you have to expect many late tackles and the referee failed dismally in meting out punishment for most of them and from what I saw the player who got the penalty awarded fell to the ground long after the fact and should have been booked for diving. Pearson, by now back on the bus, must be fuming mad at yet another late game loss and knows a way better performance will be needed in our next game to stem the questions and the boos. I did see some promising new players out there today but team cohesion was lacking in the late stages and the inevitable final score bears testament to that lack of focus and attention to duty.

embarrassing how a ref in the professional game gave that he needs sacking.

 

There were a couple earlier he’d turned down, the crowd got onto the ref and eventually he gave in. Obviously it wasn’t a penalty, he wasn’t even touched. It’s about time we started to get the rub of the green with refereeing decisions as we all well overdue a few.

 

Do you think you would have agreed with the penalty in our shoes - or even as a neutral?

 

On the balance of play a draw would have probably been a fair result, as regards the goals though ours was well worked, yours were a penalty that never was, and a fluke deflection. On that basis you were a tad lucky today.

As for relegation fodder, who knows for either of us, only time will tell.

 

You were shocking today -dirty in the tackle and god knows how the ref didn’t give the penalty, first half, absolutely embarrassing decisions by a championship referee should be sacked and demoted to non league.Another day you would have had 5/6 yellows and possibly reds

 

Unlike the one he did give of course, which was obviously the correct decision, yeh right.
