Could've scored a couple maybe, but he was incredibly positive. Liked what I saw of Nunez

 

Nunez looked s threat. Wanted to run behind so offered something different and stretched the defence.

Take a while to get used to everything, but touch looked nice, had 3 chances, scored 1 and won a pen with another. Unlucky didn’t score with the shot but showed good movement and pace.

Bar for a slight offside would have won another pen as well

 

Just a white Luther Blisset.

 

I can remember a lot of the goals Haaland scored for Dortmund but I feel Nunéz is more prepared to put his body and head on the line in the 6 yard box in comparison from what I’ve seen today.

Darwin impressed, loved his directness overall showed clever positioning both on the shoulder and coming deep, basically ghosted citys cbs for the time he was on and i cant wait to see him heading in crosses on a regular basis, milner had the right idea late on when he whipped a high ball in for him to attack. weve not had a 9 like that for years

His goal came from Carvalho starting the move who also wouldve finshed the move off himself of not for the noggin of nunez

 

Haaland will get goals no doubt but today increased the Nunez hype and rightly so.

I missed quite a bit of the game but from what i saw while still needing to sharpen up so far so good .
Positives - Nunez scoring , Salah looking sharp ,and as a curved ball thought keita was lively when he came on .
Negatives - still waiting for the front 3 to function as a unit .

 

Well done redmen. I'm with Bob Paisley on this "I don't care if I never win the Charity Shield as long as I'm in it every year, that'll do for me".

Good performance, but it’s the effort and will to win that’s the most satisfying.

Salah looked proper up for it which was nice to see
