Must admit I like the Sykes Weimann combo, looks good. Great goal for Weimann, been our MoM so far.. had some defending to do..good half imo..
End of 1st half but I think we will need to be at our absolute best to keep Hull out as they look very dangerous through the middle with speed. I was surprised to see both Vyner and DeSilva in the starting lineup but in fairness they have both been O.K. but need to keep up their work rates. First sight of the newcomers has left me quite impressed and obviously Nigel has his shape and plan, so let's see where it takes us.
Half-time player ratings Bentley - 7 Vyner - 8 Naismith - 8 Atkinson - 7 Sykes - 8 Dasilva - 7 Williams - 8 James 7 Scott - 8 Weimann - 8 Martin - 7
Never in doubt he’s decent, question is can he keep his concentration for 90 minutes on a regular basis, if he can then he’s decent at this level.
Not too sure about the penalty call but we've been looking weaker since the restart and suffered the consequences. Please don't let us revert to days of yore.
Hull 1.1 pen. Very very soft of what I could see.. We’ve looked a bit disjointed this 2nd half, poor passing and decision making..
New season, same old problems… why can’t NP get them to concentrate to the final whistle ffs! All the talk of improvement and better focus, but talk is cheap!
Here we go again Successive managers can’t stop us losing games from winning positions and in added time Yet again we’re the only team in the EFL still playing at nearly 100 minutes How many times has that happened over the years Disappointed
Bit harsh, didn’t deserve that imo.. massive deflection, Bents no chance. We were good in first have, looked confused and disjointed after the break.. deserved more from the game imo.. Commentators bigging up Conway, thought he was poor.. positives, I like Sykes, Wilson and thought Weimann was full of energy..
A penalty that wasn’t, and a lucky deflection. Unlucky, but we sat back too much in the second half, we have to stop looking to defend a one goal lead. Feels we threw away at least one point & possibly three.
I woke up to some hope this morning and up until half-time I thought we might take the 3 points but slowly I saw the same old Bristol City start to become evident. The plot remains the same despite new signings and to watch the major part of the second half left me with exactly the same fears as last season and many before. The penalty was very shaky and a deflected goal left us in the same old position as so many times before and I have to say I thought NP would take us down the same road with different directions but apparently not based on today's performance. A loss in our next home game will deflate many people, including me, because after all the hype and promises here we go again beating ourselves and being unable to see a game out for the full 90 minutes plus.
