Just one thing to add about yesterday's game, the pitch was really heavy and hard going. The players looked like they were playing in mud and were unable to control the ball. It was like each time they kicked it, it stopped where it was. A pitch like that needs getting used to. Only a friendly and not an excuse for the result, just an observation.

Lijnders: With one goal: to be able to press over 95 minutes. Result-wise, concede less and score more against direct top-four opposition – that's for sure, haha!

Our stats last season against the top half, not just the direct top 4 rivals was poor. Cheslea and city and spurs all draws is where linders is looking here.

If we improve that and keep the rest? my god its 19/20 all over again.

    wellllllll

15-4-0 last season would be construed as #objectiveacheived.

we won the "home Table" by 2 points but lost the "away table" by 3 points thus lost the league. 1 more loss than city = west ham or leciester results. we ought to have won that leicester game all day every day. salah missed early pen

anyway. its all moot. Pep wants to get results off the top 4 rivals now, it's help to get better in transition cos thats where imo we lost the ball and were out of shape and conceded goals.

I don't think utd are a part of the 'direct top four opposition" conversation. They are further down the pecking order.

Four places, two already taken by us and Citeh. Arguably another taken by Chelsea.

Then there is Conte's Spurs and a building Arsenal.........it's gonna be tough for MU this season, again.

Well. There's an assumption we will go hell for leather here. Either we will or it'll be a shocker of a.season.

City are not improving imo. I still say it the best 12 but the squad isn't there

Cheslea meh. Koulibaly for rudiger is not an improvement. Sterling in is not a real improvement. Another good squad but I don't think the key men are getting any younger.

Spurs look improved. Conte is a danger but could easily decide to.sulk to get out if it doesn't intsa work.

Arsenal have spent a fortune and have a ****e back line and cms. I dont get how unbalanced that team is.

Man utd we will see. I dont think what they've done so far is that.much better but proper fitness and coaching and getting rid of sulks and egos might help.

I think the trophies will be shared round more this year.

Maybe so. It's the only defensive 2-6 number that's open.
