Very wise Suffolk. You know what they say in the financial world -- "If it sounds too good to be true, it almost certainly is" And he isn't even injured ..........
Give it a few games and you'll write all the new players off as useless don't worry . If you "follow" Norwich you can rest assured there will always be something to moan about . The only 2 players you have ever praised was Leitner and Skipp . And that was after they were dropped or left .
So currently we have (or will soon at least): GK: Krul, Gunn, McGovern RB: Aarons, Bryam CB: Omobamidele, Hanley, Gibson, Tomkinson, ?? LB: Giannoulis, McCallum CDM: Hayden, Sorensen CM: Sara, Mclean, Nunez, Gibbs RM: Sargent, Sinani, Rowe CAM/Att Mid: Cantwell, Dowell LM: Rashica, Hernandez, Springett CF: Pukki, Idah, Hugill It's a pretty decent squad. Id say we might just need another CB (to fill the ?? spot and poss allow Tomkinson out on loan). Think it should be enough to have us challenging, providing the new guys get fit sooner rather than later. Heard a rumour that another winger from St Etienne has turned us down. Possibly looking for someone to allow Springett or Rowe to go out on loan?
That St Etienne rumour: If the fee ends up around €7m, even to another club, that would suggest there's still money in the NCFC kitty? The player in question can play both wings and up top, so could really replace anybody. There's been a few rumours saying a winger is on the shopping list. Can't remember where I read it, but somebody pointed out that Smith made heavy use of El Ghazi as a "wide target man" at Villa, something which Idah and Sargent could potentially do from the wing too. Will be interesting to see if we see a repeat of that tactic.
We seemed to be using Tzolis in that role towards the end of pre-season. It seems strange that we would be looking for another forward player when we already have a plethora of those, all of whom Smith thought had done very well during the pre-season. If we're spending that sort of money, I'd rather it were on a CB like the one from Fiorentina.
Boulanger looks to have a lot of talent. I don't understand why he would choose MLS over the Championship. We are a step to the PL; MLS is a step to ...?
Any inside scoop on what the cut of profit is that we would get if Maddison goes to Newcastle? Assuming it ends up being, say, £45m, I think that’s roughly a £20m profit so at 10-15% that would be a £2m-£3m windfall for the club.
PinkUn are reporting it is 15% of profit on the sale. https://www.pinkun.com/sport/norwic...adison-sell-on-clause-chelsea-arsenal-8067318
Maybe we can point out to him that, if he signs for us, he can still live in California but only have traffic on the A47 to worry about rather than on the I-405
Leicester City have rejected a £40m bid from Newcastle for playmaker James Maddison. Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers is yet to make a significant signing during the current transfer window and needs to raise funds to allow Leicester to comply with Financial Fair Play. Maddison has two years remaining on his Leicester contract, having signed an extension in 2020.
I'm devastated. It seems that Canary Call is no longer available in Malta. Even if we lost and looked totally crap (like today), at least I had the consolation of listening to the best comedy since Fawlty Towers. EDIT: Can you still get it in Thailand, Thai Canary?
Nunez due to travel to England on Tuesday for his medical at Norwich, has played his last game for Catolica. Was given an emotional farewell https://app.pinkun.com/9179640/content.html
No subscription required for this version in the EDP: https://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwi...elino-nunez-universidad-catolica-boss-9179640 Having played today, there's a chance Núñez can be on the bench for Wigan should the medical and other requirements get sorted.
