Not too happy there’s a buy option. I really like Joe and think he’s been a bit unlucky with injuries when it comes to having a chance to actually get a run in the team. But he must be desperate to play so can’t blame him for wanting to move on and have a chance.

 

Suddenly wondering if another CB could be on the menu, as that would leave us with Lenglet covering both Dier and Davies - and that's asking for the inevitable to happen

I don’t think he’s good enough for a top PL side. Possibly a lower mid table PL side though but he needs to stop being injury prone.

 

I think the club still need a top class CB regardless of if they manage to get rid of Rodon or not.

 

I’m not sure he is injury prone. I think he’s just had bad timing. Played through 2 broken ribs for us earlier in the year.

I guess I’d rather it was a straight loan than with an option, all told.

 

Given Fulham's track record of singing Ligue 1 CMs who look good on the ball but are invisible when they don't have it, it might be useful for us if Fulham stay up this season...

One thing that has to be said, we're moving out Tanganga and Rodon yet I can't think of too many CBs we've been linked with

Bastoni, Gvardiol and Guehi all seem to be 2023 moves, which basically leaves us with Zabarnyi and a lot of maybes involving Pau Torres

Maybe Conte is going to use Emerson Royal as a RCB

 

I suggested he might do this a while ago and it wouldn't surprise me.
Not sure how effective he'd be there, but I think he might be an option in a couple of positions.
I'd still expect decent Dier backup to be signed, though.

 

He's not good enough to play RCB, I remember the last 2 goals we conceded against Southampton. Emerson was at fault for both.

 

He’s definitely ill suited to RWB so might be a better RCB. Ideally he would be moved on and a proper CB signed though.
